Republican Strategist John Thomas, the FOUNDER of the DeSantis Super PAC just went on News Nation and dropped a bomb! Thomas told News Nation that DeSantis lacks all of the qualities that make a good candidate – charm, charisma, discipline, being likeable – and he is now backing Trump.
John Thomas: I, along with a lot of grassroots supporters and major donors, said, okay, let’s draft DeSantis, encourage him to run for president, because we think he’s got the stuff.
Except there was one problem, Adrian. It’s that when Governor DeSantis did end up launching, he had a failure to launch, and he’s never recovered. And while he may be a great governor, he’s not ready for the national stage, and we don’t think that he’s ready to beat Joe Biden.
And on the flip side, Adrian, we think that Donald Trump, in spite of all of his legal challenges, has honestly run nearly a flawless effort with strategic ad spends against his opponent, DeSantis, good messaging choices that really I hadn’t seen in 2016 or 2020. So for all of those reasons, we all reversed course to get behind Donald Trump, not just because we think he’s going to be the nominee, but honestly, we think he’s the best person to beat Joe Biden in the general.

This is a fake Super PAC.
I could set up a Super PAC tomorrow, "Trump to the Rescue!" Me and my four friends plan to raise $20 million each for Trump.
But Trump posts something stupid on Truth Social so we shut it down. We never raised more than a couple hundred bucks but the headlines would read, "$100 million Trump Super PAC shuts down."
The reason people are so annoyed about DeSantis is because of DeSantis boosters who pushed him nonstop and looked for every opportunity to throw mud at Trump & Trump supporters.
It’s a natural reaction to being gaslit and has nothing to do with any threat (there has never been any) from DeSantis POTUS campaign. The only thing the boosters did was to cause a backlash.
Try to let this sink in .... it was a fake super PAC. Wasn’t with DeSantis permission or authority. Spare us the lecture. Gateway Pundit should have done a little research on the guy and the PAC before putting this on their blog.
Before the Twitter Spaces launch, the strategist, who has worked on races in 49 states, had a swath of donors who wanted to put up ‘seven- and eight-figure support’ for DeSantis.
The PAC only ended up spending around $20,000 on grassroots efforts to drum up support for the governor.
‘There was never any moment that gave donors any encouragement, like ‘well now is the time.’’ So everything just kind of dried up,’ said Thomas.
‘We were hoping to do like a formal TV campaign of air support when DeSantis officially launched,’ Thomas told DailyMail.com in an interview. ‘But the problem with that is with the Twitter Spaces blunder, like almost from the get-go, all of our major donors said, ‘let’s just see how this plays out.’

It was no more fake than any other superpac. The pac had pledges totaling 50M but the donors were watching and didn’t like what they saw. They all backed out.
The superpac DeSantis has been illegally coordinating with is Never Back Down.

Super PACs are allowed to accept donations in unlimited amounts from corporations, unions, associations, and individuals. By contrast, candidates are restricted to donations of $2,700 from individuals per election cycle (there are two cycles per year) and cannot accept donations from corporations, associations, or unions.
Coordination between Super PACs, which can be formed without consent from a candidate, and political campaigns is forbidden.
Super PACs are independent expenditure-only political committees that may receive unlimited contributions from individuals, corporations, labor unions and other political action committees for the purpose of financing independent expenditures and other independent political activity. The committee will not use those funds to make contributions, whether direct, in-kind or via coordinated communications, to federal candidates or committees.
A Super PAC becomes a political committee once its contributions or expenditures exceed $1,000 in a calendar year. After the committee crosses that threshold, it must register within 10 days, using the Statement of Organization, Form 1. A PAC may register and begin reporting before it exceeds the $1,000 threshold.
The “PAC” only raised 291.00. It was all smoke and mirrors set up to make RDS look bad to low IQ people. RDS told people that a while back.
There is no need for consent to form a super pac.
That might be something to factor in to your understanding of super pacs.
Coordination between Super PACs, which can be formed without consent from a candidate, and political campaigns is forbidden.
That is not an accurate portrayal of the facts. The donors reneged after DeSantis’ disastrous rollout and later mistakes.

There are PACs like The Lincoln Project too that identify as republican. I won’t be giving them any money.
All this proves is that John Thomas is an idiot that nobody should listen to.
It was no more fake than any other superpac. The pac had pledges totaling 50M but the donors were watching and didn’t like what they saw. They all backed out.

Well that’s good to hear.
DeSantis himself telling people to steer clear of this Super PAC and not to donate to it certainly wasn't encouraging.
I agree. I would never give to a superpac. I don’t donate to the RNC either. For me this story is like other recent stories that donors are souring on DeSantis because of campaign issues or because they thought that DeSantis would be more malleable.
I used to donate to politicians but haven’t in many years. Every time I did, I regretted it a few years later.
Fact Check: This is NOT DeSantis’ Super PAC. He disavowed them from day one.
