GOP Senators are weighing a ‘special’ meeting on their leadership after McConnell’s latest freezing incident.
81-year-old Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is “medically clear” to continue work after he froze up for the second time within the last month on Wednesday.
And this is just what we have seen in public. Certainly, McConnell is having these episodes in private as well.
McConnell was holding a press conference in Covington, Kentucky on Wednesday when he went into a catatonic state.
Mitch McConnell temporarily froze and was unable to speak. An aide came to his rescue and promptly ended the press conference.
Late last month McConnell became unresponsive and stared blankly during a Senate press conference.
As TGP’s Kristinn Taylor reported, McConnell suffered a concussion and a broken bone after a fall in March. He was hospitalized and did a stint in rehab before returning to the Senate in mid-April.

He’s going to do whatever Joe tells him, and Joe told him he needs him until after his last Election.
I suggested that to my Senators. Maybe we can start a movement - “Take the car keys away from Grandpa before he destroys the house.”
“Does Mitch have the presence of mind to understand that his health is declining, and he should step aside?”
How many accidents happen and people hurt because Dementia/Alzheimer’s patients will not voluntarily give up their driver’s license?
At some point their mental health is beyond all rational self reflection. In their minds everything is normal and just fine. My Dad did this, in his mind he was 30 years old and would not give up his license. After playing bumper cars for about six months we had to take it away from him. And he still kept trying to drive, we had to hide the keys all the time.
Mitch is now mentally at this point. So I would not count on him being rational and step aside.
Aside from the fact this is not up to him, he doesn’t even rationally understand reality. He is on blind cruise control. It is up to his corrupt “handlers” and family who refuse to acknowledge it.
It is now elder abuse at this point. Just as it is with Biden, Feinstein, Pelosi, and others.
They should have dumped Mitch a long time ago.
Fetterman, Feinstein, etc., aka "brain dead" are still voting, although in-coherent. But, then, they are (D) votes, so they can do the weekend at Bernie's routine (like Biden), and keep voting.
Totally agree with you.
Dump him although the replacement will be no better. The Senate is filled to the brim with RINOs.
Sickening!
Thank you for posting that information.
As if the Democrat governor would appoint a Republican replacement for McTurtle.
John Thune……
Previous Kentucky state allowed the sitting governor to make his or her own appointment to fill a Senate vacancy with no restrictions, Senate Bill 228 passed by the Kentucky legislature in the 2021 session changed that.
Under the amended law, the governor now may only choose from three names recommended by the executive committee of the outgoing senator’s state party, and must make that selection within 21 days of receiving the list from the party. See link

I don’t want McConnel removed from the Senate. Yes, the Democratic Governor will have to select a temorary replacement from three candkidates selected by a special committee composed of GOP persons in Kentucky. But I would rather see them avoid that, just remove his minority leader position from him, let him sit until his current term ends and then see him not run for reelction. At least we might get a GOP Senate leader more willing to stick with the positions that come up from the GOP led house, instead of not supporting them.
The GOPe will replace McConnell with Cornyn.
Kentucky law says it must be one of three candidates submitted by the executive committee of the incumbent’s party.

so it will be a GOP’er.
What a bitter clinger...McConnel’s had all this time to work out a successor, but all he can think of is himself. He’s the ultimate swamp creature. I don’t wish ill on him, but he’s undeserving of my sympathies either.
Again, who are these state executive committee members?
GOP senators moving at the speed of a John Durham.
