I’d rather see DeSantis as a senator. He’s just not impressive when he speaks, but he’s a darned good leader.
Why? He’s doing a good job as governor of FL. Keep doing that until there is another opportunity. Why force it?

That more than 2 to 1 Republican majority in the Florida State Legislature had nothing to do with his success. His "leadership" is signing those Bills, and that's more important than the actual people who gave him the opportunity to do that.

If true, does DeSantis actually believe that the people of Florida would even vote for him for Senator, seeing as he lied to them last November, when he told them he would serve out his full 2nd term? And the only reason DeSantis would run for the Senate would be to have that platform to run from, for President in 2028. Florida Senator Rick Scott is running for re-election in 2024. If DeSantis plans on running against him in 2024, he’ll have to drop out of the Presidential race pretty quick, in order to switch to a run for the Senate. How will he recycle all his DeSantis for President paraphernalia? On the crap he wears himself, he can just use a felt-tip marker and scratch off the “for President” part, and add a new label that says “for Senator.”

Scott with have a tough campaign in Fl albeit it should be a runaway for him. This would just muddy the waters more. Recent election in Jax shows that a know nothing news reader managed to become mayor partly on the abortion issue. That bum McConnell will do what he can do to get him to lose too as he views Scott as a threat.
Meatball demonstrated his lack of integrity when he begged for Trump’s endorsement (without which he would not currently be governor) then stabbed him in the back at his first opportunity.
