A lot of pro sports venues are in increasingly uncivilized areas. Teams and cities seem to believe these areas can be secure for games but otherwise lawless. Impossible.
Looks like a 230 grain 45 bullet.
And you did it without spilling your beer!
Consider the fact that the persons who are so stupid as to attend a Sox game are also the same persons expected to educate children. No wonder Johnny cannot read and Janie cannot do math.
As the sage Jim Croce said: Well the south side of Chicago is the baddest part of town...
Make that the whole city of Chicongo!
The shooting took place before 9 pm. That’s a violation of the no shooting between 9 am and 9 pm program that someone in Chicago city government was promoting. That is what offends the mayor most.
Nashville. Another dem sh#thole city.
To ensure only government approved peeps be doin' the shootin'...
ping
A .22 rifle can shoot about a mile. I didn’t see that they mentioned the caliber of the bullet.
RE: CPD said there was never an active threat
So two people who got shot should count their blessings?
Like the law enforcement message within an hour of bombing or shooting “There is no connection with terrorism.”
The fearful citizens all feel much better. Whew.
Note: The 2nd message is always “There are no suspects. The officers are reaching out to ask for help from the community.
During the 1967 Detroit Riots (I was there as a college student) there were explanations from police of “spent bullets” hitting someone in the next block or two. “What goes up must come down somewhere” was a line I remember.
I guess “Make sure your umbrella is upside down” as Pennies In Heaven said doesn’t apply.
A woman who was seated with the two victims wrote on Facebook that she was also “barely” grazed by the bullet.
She said she was with a group of teachers and was speaking with a co-worker when they heard a noise “like when you fill a water bottle with air and twist it and the cap comes off” followed by the ping of something hitting the metal bleacher.
“I felt a pinch in my back … sure enough I picked up a damn bullet,” said the post, which was accompanied by photos, including one of a largely undamaged bullet.
LOL!
With all of the shooting that goes on within a one-mile radius of where the White Sox play, it’s surprising that this has not happened before. Maybe some archeology team should be looking for bullet impacts all throughout the park, because it’s not like the Sox have a game going on all of the times when bullets fly in the area.
Wow. Me too. But much younger.
Where were you residing at the time?
I first learned of this story from the website of a European newspaper—they had it under World News.
