Afraid of the feds? lol...If push comes to shove, they’re outnumbered by about 100 million, give or take. So far they’re only functioning because the people allow them to. That could change. History is full of these types of changes.
In this case the change was too slow. Two down in a week just for show.

Ever read “The Gulag Archipelago”. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote about how they could have been stopped but everyone was too afraid. Afraid for themselves and their families. So people were slowly picked off 1 by 1. Nothing is new under the sun. People are the same. Only after great suffering and loss will there be a chance for freedom.
So long as these killings are committed at distances from each other and happen less than once a week there will be no resistance just as there is no resistance to the SWAT closing of FFLs much more often. I wonder how many SWAT killings of dissidents don’t even make the local news?
