Ever read “The Gulag Archipelago”. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn wrote about how they could have been stopped but everyone was too afraid. Afraid for themselves and their families. So people were slowly picked off 1 by 1. Nothing is new under the sun. People are the same. Only after great suffering and loss will there be a chance for freedom.
Yes. If I recall when they were in the camps they realized that the KGB men came in two’s and three’s, and all of them in the apartment building together could have overwhelmed them.
I guess the problem there is the KGB comes back with overwhelming force.
Another episode where there is a great lesson was in 1941 when the Germans were on the outskirts of Moscow, and looked to take the city. Much of the Soviet gov’t evacuated and there was a revolt of the citizens inside Moscow, and KGB Headquarters was actually sacked.
That’s the situation one wants to create, where you get the whole population moving together, and the Regime goes down like Ceausescu.
