See post 38.
“I really don’t understand why he felt he was in such a hurry to run now.”
Because he is not MAGA and never was. He is GOPe. friend of Ryan, FOX news, and every Bushie power broker out there. His tilting at Disney was just to show the rubes he’s MAGA. In reality, he’s just another typical grubby Republican who says what it takes to get to power, and then he’ll start signing collective trade deal treaties, acting like global warming is a thing, supporting every war that comes along, etc.
He blew it.
To EVERY Country.
I agree, but while we ARE giving aid, Israel should get it first.
When?
bump
No Hindus
Well, that’s the end of him, as far as conservatives go.
“US presidential candidate rising in polls wants to end US military aid to Israel by 2028”
and has explicitly stated he has zero problem if china annexes Taiwan with military force ...
seems like his plan is to throw U.S. allies under the bus ...
this guy has GOT to be some kind of trojan horse ...
How are they grifting? You enjoy using AntiSemtic Terms, huh. The man you will stand before is coming back to Israel is Jewish, as is the Christian Faith. Youn4edto read the book of Romans.
Here's the ugly little truth about NBC. There's zero enforcement mechanism. The FEC has allowed clearly ineligible candidates to write a check and file since at least the 1970s.
Is it up to individual state secretaries to remove ineligible candidates? They haven't done so yet.
Or is it up to voters themselves to determine if a candidate meets constitutional eligibility requirements?
You were correct in asking me to explain why.
If this had been 30 years ago, or possibly even 10 years ago, I might have said they’re the only country that even comes close in that region to sharing our values, and they’re the only ones who don’t want to see us all dead.
However, given where we are today, tens or hundreds of trillions of dollars in debt, depending on how debt is defined, I think we should be getting things in order in our own house.
I said in another post on another thread, that the three things that we as Americans should be most concerned about right now, are our electoral process, our fiscal situation, and our border situation.
If we don’t get those three things in order, our goose is cooked. Therefore, I don’t believe at this time we should be sending any amount of military aid to any country except in very specific instances.
Bottom line, I should’ve worded my post differently, because my brain was still 30 years in the past, as I wrote. What I would say today is:“we shouldn’t be sending military aid to anybody at this time, but if we were, Israel would be one that I would consider.“
That said, the way Israel has been treated by us on many occasions, I’m always surprised that they can view us as an ally . More often than not, if I were in their shoes, I would be telling the United States to go pound sand.
President Trump was the most Pro-Israel President ever.
I agree that we should end ALL Foriegn Aid. Israel would be fine without it.
What antisemitic term did I use sparky? And you need to reread my post. Romans was not referring to the idiots in Haifa and Tel Aviv as god’s chosen people.
European post WWII refugees chose the name Israel and resurrected a name from 2000 years earlier for nostalgic reasons. But no, I see no evidence the Book of Romans was referring to any modern band of grifters electing to use the name “Israel”.
Are your really suggesting this modern nation state, run by Netanyahu is somehow God’s chosen people on earth?
“That said, the way Israel has been treated by us on many occasions, I’m always surprised that they can view us as an ally”
Yeah, and they shot up the USS Liberty on purpose, and have always ran spies against us, and fell all over themselves to be the first to congratulate Biden when the Big Lie of his win was only 2 hours old.
They are not an enemy, but they deserve no better treatment than the average nation should get.
“Grifting” isn’t antisemitic. It’s an old English word related to graft. An example would be Henry Arms, or Inland Arms, grabbing an name from decades past, leaving people to incorrectly associate one with the other.
Same for the refugees of WWII who left Europe and established the new so called “Israel”. It was a masterstroke of marketing, but it’s less than honest.
Please do not call people “antisemitic” for using a word with a negative connotation in reference to them. Modern Israelis, and yes, even ancient Jews are capable of generosity, magnificence, heroism, kindness, compassion, and wisdom. Likewise, they are also quite capable of greed, treachery, cowardice, coldness, and downright ignorance.
That game doesn’t work anymore, that speaking of Israel in anything other than glowing terms being cast as antisemitism.
THAT is also a nifty grift, designed to silence all criticism.
Had they named the nation they founded Zion, the Democratic republic of Palestine, etc. It would never occur to people that they were any more special than anyone else.
Bull shit! Where was your selective outrage when Bobby Jindal ran for President?
lol - but I for one don’t mind Hindus, or Israelis or anyone - as long I don’t need to pay them.
