The whole thing (fire & annexation) has probably been orchestrated at the highest state levels in cahoots with a few commercial conglomerates...

Set a fire, refuse to release water for use, and bulldoze all that brand new commercially useable land for secret bribes and more taxes to be stolen from the serfs...

Well we know now why the politician in Hawaii are saying they are “A media free zone” Loved when Will Cane said, no they aren't I'm here and with the help of Elon Musk and his sky satellite will report on what is going on.

I read that the Governor has already announced they plan to purchase large amounts of burned land.

Didn't Nero do something similar to Rome?

After much of Rome burned on his watch, Nero seized a huge tract of burned-out land, at a bargain price, to build the Domus Aurea (Golden House) palace complex.

Cue the theories that the State of Hawaii allowed the fires to burn in order to facilitate the purchase of the land.

So the state buys up the burned up land, sells it at a profit to a developer then reaps lots of tax revenue down the road.

Hell of a deal.

Well at least he will keep the land out of foreign hands if the state buys it up cheap .... it will be the hands of his friends and giant corporations after his cut.

Yep. “Lahaina Estates”, a soon to be opened gated community. Homes starting at 1.5M. Locals are encouraged to apply…for employment.

The state already owns about a third of Maui. Next largest owner is Alexander & Baldwin, real estate company that started plantations and irrigation about 150 years ago. They own less than 10% of Maui.

“What’s the next page of the playbook say ?”

Palestine, OH, was a chemical dud.
Chinese-backed biolab in California was a dud.
Next up: major nuke accident drifting eastward.

Don’t people already in [own?] the land and don’t they have insurance to cover any losses?

Many have mortgages and therefore only partial ownership. They will have to negotiate with the bank for a re-building loan. The banks and dozens of government "authorities" are going to want to set the new rules, and boy can they dream up new rules. The red tape could get confounding and oppressive.

Those who own outright, as long as they had insurance, might be in a better position, but if the powers that be have other ideas about what Lahaina should look like, then again, the red tape could be horrifically discouraging.

Modern developers hold all the persuasive cards when it comes to nudging bureaucrats to treat them with respect. Frustrated individual property owners, not so much.

JMHO

I wasn’t even thinking about the duds they had but be assured that they learned shit and will adapt.

Or high altitude hot waste scattering that I think happened on a “small scale” back in the 40’s and up through the 50’s and even beyond. ? How prevalent was cancer before say... 1900 or before ? That shit is rampant now and could be much worse.

I’m really concerned about a jfk situation.

bassturds !!!

Time out, My head hurts.
