President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell report on his Truth Social platform that the sham committee overseeing the investigation of the January 6th Capitol riot has destroyed their documents and records illegally.

On Tuesday, Trump wrote:

President Trump: So now that I have full Subpoena Power because of the Freedom of Speech Sham Indictment by Crooked Joe Biden, Deranged Jack Smith, and the DOJ, it has just been reported that the Unselect January 6th Committee of Political Hacks and Thugs has illegally destroyed their Records and Documents. This is unthinkable, and the Fake Political Indictment against me must be immediately withdrawn. The system is Rigged & Corrupt, very much like the Presidential Election of 2020. We are a Nation in Decline!

So the committees that Republicans blocked Schiff and Swallwell from bring on this year are illegitimate?

Those committees are called "Select" committees; they are not "standing" committees. They are different from normal committees; Select committees are formed for a special purpose and remain until that purpose is completed. In the Senate, they don't have a Chairman and a Ranking Member, they have a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman; the House still uses the Chairman and Ranking Member nomenclature.

Regarding the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (which usually meets in closed session due to the nature of their work), surely you can understand the difference between Pelosi rejecting members because they supported President Trump versus McCarthy ejecting members from the Intelligence Committee who either falsified documents presented to the nation or was caught with a Chinese spy.

Indeed. We expect Pelosi will act based on lust for power rather than any principles decent people can understand. Blocking S&S from the intel committee was not only a righteous act but was proper under House rules.

But even (arguably) sane dems agree that Pelosi was wrong to block Jordan and ram TDS-afflicted RINOs into the J6 committee:

I’ve finally had an opportunity to respond on this thread because our internet has been out all day! Yuk.

I would like to stay as brief yet as impactive as possible. There is always a lot of arguments surrounding Trump especially his personality. Well Donald Trump is not the problem. He just serves as a distraction to what some rank-and-file GOP members who post here would rather not deal with. And that is the stinking corruption within the GOP and it’s Uni Party RINO politicians.

True, righteous anger belong in discussion and arguments on eliminating the corruption in the GOP and those same RINOs. Moreover, I would argue the GOP protects it’s RINOS a hell of a lot more than it fights the dems in Congress!!!

Speaking of an example timely to this thread, though Liz Cheney is now gone from Congress, she is still a member of the GOP. She and Adam Kinzenger are two evil people. There is no other explanation for their actions. While serving on the J6 committee they willfully helped to:

1. Craft a narrative of lies and misdirection in order to destroy a political enemy.
2. Their actions kept at least one J6 person a prisoner far longer than he otherwise would have been incarcerated if any of the videos Carlson eventually televised had been released.
3. Their actions wasted how many millions of our tax dollars???

I wonder how many of the J6 families are still needlessly suffering and how many more years of cruel and unusual punishment their loved ones will have to endure. All crafted by corrupt people for the benefit of destroying a political enemy. Yes, the law is the law, but as we’ve seen it’s one law for thee and another for me in this country!

And now it is alleged evidence has been destroyed. Yet instead of taking issue with a RINO filled, corrupt party, it’s preferable to bash one man’s personality. For the record, I have NEVER seen any of Free Republic’s posters who fight against Donald Trump so much as pay lip service to the real problem within the GOP-—RINO corruption. This is exactly what the GOP likes of Bush, Pence, and Ryan want. And it’s why I left the party years ago.
