Foreigners who place their trust in the promise of the United States to have their back apparently are unaware of the fate of Vietnamese, Libyans, Cambodians, Afghanis and Iraquies who believed Washington’s promises. When the going gets tough, the U.S. says adios.
The following video cartoon is a canary in the mineshaft. While the West is scrambling to blame Ukraine for the failed counter offensive, some in the Ukraine are pushing back against that narrative by correctly noting that the pledge of Washington and NATO to give them the weapons systems needed to beat back the Russian offensive is nothing more than lip service. I’m providing two versions — youtube and Rumble (just in case youtube tries to quash the video).
* the video has had me laughing for an hour- a must see.
With no success on the battlefield Ukraine is opting for the drone hail Mary — i.e., attacking a couple of Russian ships with maritime drones. These attacks are pin pricks with no strategic significance in terms of diminishing Russia’s military power. However, these attacks are likely to inspire the Russian General Staff to look at attacks on NATO ISR operating over the Black Sea because of the role played by Western aerial surveillance in providing Ukraine with intelligence needed to attack those two Russian vessels. In addition, these attacks are likely to stiffen Russia’s resolve to impose a de facto embargo on Ukrainian ports in the coming weeks.
I wonder when the London bookies will start offering betting opportunities predicting Zelensky’s fall from power or the Ukrainian military’s withdrawal from the battlefield? That is another marker that is a better predictor of the course of the war in Ukraine than any of the nonsense being published by British intelligence or the Institute for the Study of War.
US aid to Ukraine is money laundering by the swamp, no different than government union dues, which go exclusively to democrats as campaign donations. The purpose of a union is to guarantee wages and benefits to its members. Government workers wages and benefits are already guaranteed by the government, and its authority to levy taxes. Absolutely no need whatsoever for government unions. Its sole purpose is to generate campaign cash for democrats.
American taxpayer dollars are going to Ukraine. Is anyone watching where this money is going?
I don’t trust these people, and I certainly don’t believe a word they say.
Yeah because Russia actually controls it’s borders
I can just hear the eastern European accents barking angrily and shrilly in response to this.
And the Russians do?
Note that the Neocon/Biden Policy Supporter brings up a statistic regarding Russia and how many Muslims it has. It might be worth noting that Russia has 111 Million whites also. I suspect that number is also the higher than any other country in Europe, especially considering that Germany’s 83 Million people (total) is the highest population of any European country outside of Russia.
As to Muslims, per Wikipedia, they are 6.5% of the Russian population...what are they in France, Belgium, even Canada now? And, which way is the Muslim population trending in Russia and other countries? I’m too lazy to look it up, but I suspect that the growth rate of the Muslim population in Europe is twice that of Russia, as Russia doesn’t have the open-borders that the West has.
It was a gamble where the payoff would be massively increased US hegemony, elimination of Russia as a strategic rival and christian cultural influence in Europe, and control over Eurasia. The risk would be total destruction of Ukraine.
For US neocons, it was a great bet: "heads I win, tails you lose." We should not be surprised that the arrogant, amoral drones of Washington DC did not hesitate to jump all over that - and indeed, since at least 2008, have actively been pushing for Ukraine to ultimately confront Russia.
I’m referring to rebuilding efforts and such.
But speaking of Russia, I’m sure there are those that live in the cities and what they consider their suburbs that would argue otherwise. I wonder what you say about the folks that live in Appalachia or some of those in the inner cities, that are pretty much captive to crime and poverty. Obviously not good.
But, then again, there’s no use in talking to any Zelensky/Ukraine zealot on FR about stuff like that.
Especially ones that cheer on Ukraine, have a chance to go over there and defend Ukraine and Zelensky but instead run their sucks from the comfort of the USA.
Your statement represents the immoral, cynical, neocon worldview very well: "Ukraine is destroyed and suffers up to 1 million dead and 10 million departed, but we have lost nothing!"
If you think the USA will avoid judgement for behavior based on such thinking, you are living in a fool's paradise.
You sound like Sweet Polly Purebred with dementia.
There's no plan for Russia to be "kicked out." None. It doesn't exist... except in the fantasies of the moronic Uk chatterlings.
“War is politics by other means” - Clausewitz.
The only thing that matters about war is who wins, and who loses. Vietnam was a multi-dimensional defeat for the US that left us poorer, weaker, and from which you could argue we have never recovered.
Russia will never let Ukraine be a member of NATO. Not after the war, never.
I can't think of any other reason why we'd be involved... Hunter goes out into the world to solicit bribes from lowlifes of the world - and Biden smiles and gives these hellhole countries taxpayer cash and hands them our treasure and arms...
Russians had a song once.
An unbreakable union of free republics,
Great Russia has been sealed forever.
That "unbreakable" and "forever" didn't work out for them.
Just very recently they declared Kherson as part of Russia and put up billboards saying "Russia is here forever. They were kicked out a little over a month later.
.
Japan is just biding their time.
LOL, good one. I could support that draft.
If that was the goal, it backfired. The Russians are now aware of their weaknesses and what they need to fix.
As for us, we still have the same two problems. Woke culture overtaking our military, and an MIC that drags us into for profit wars that they have no intention of winning. We'll see who fixes their problems first.
