When more fully developed, this kind of technology might make for effective voter id. Except I’m sure we will be told that minorities disproportionately don’t have irises in their eyes.

I am wondering about the physical consequences of having your eyes regularly scanned.
By people that want you dead.

When COVID was raging and masks were expected, my cellphone (Android) came to the rescue with an iris scanner in place of face recognition or fingerprint. My fingerprint fails to register MOST of the time. The mask screwed up the facial recognition. The iris scanner worked 100%. It must have be too pricey to continue. The next two successor Android phones didn't have iris scanning capability.

I have zero interest in the technology as a way to identify outside of unlocking my phone screen saver.
