It has something to do with Ukraine defending against a Russian invasion...but it is on no vital national security interest to the US for that level of commitment.
We invaded Cuba through US based proxies in 1961 and threatened to go to war there in 1962 when the USSR put missiles there next door to us “to defend Cuba”. The USSR died in the nineties and Russia, much like Ukraine, is just another kleptocracy, one with nukes, that does not want the nation they fear most with missiles and military next door to it, particularly when Obama/Biden engineered the overthrow of a neutral government there in 2014, to get a government more favorable to the West that would welcome NATO and US military next door to Russia. If Cuba is any indicator, we would be doing the same thing as Russia. Zelensky knows where all the Biden corruption skeletons are hidden in Ukraine. So. Biden is selling the narrative we are fighting the old USSR rather just another bad guy we don’t like in a conflict that we are partially responsible for causing and where we have no vital national security interest.
