Team DeSantis Make It Official – They Will Shift Personnel, Drop Communications Director and Relaunch Entire Campaign with New Approach

It’s going to get a lot more huggy in the brand image of Team DeSantis 2.0

According to campaign officials, and those inside the operations, DeSantis will stop talking about Florida, tone down the wokeism and confrontation with the alphabet people, drop the expensive platform speeches and focus on small group meetings to help the candidate learn how to like people more. In essence, stop being the DeSantis campaign.

altYup, awful huggy. Gee, who could have seen this coming?

(Via NBC) – TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ campaign is planning a reboot, top campaign officials said, with a significant shift on messaging, events and media strategy.

Expect fewer big speeches and more handshaking in diners and churches. There will be more of a national focus than constant Florida references. And the mainstream media may start to get more access.

[…] Campaign filings show that the DeSantis campaign needs to figure out how to bring in more money and spend less. It fired roughly a dozen staffers last week. Donors and allies are pressing for a change. The poll numbers are stagnant. And rival GOP presidential candidates are smelling blood in the water.

“Downright low” is how a source who was present when the staffers were fired described morale these days. “The entire campaign is on the brink,” the person said. “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The reboot is notable for a candidate who was perhaps the most widely expected GOP entrant in the 2024 race.

[…] The campaign postponed paying some of its outstanding bills until after the end of June, in part so its second-quarter financial report would show more money in the bank, the sources said. It’s not an uncommon practice for campaigns running up against big reporting deadlines, but it can obscure larger issues.

Top DeSantis aides acknowledge that the money situation has to be addressed. They plan to do it in part by cutting costs for his events. DeSantis won’t travel less, but his campaign appearances will begin to be leaner and more intimate.

[…] Cody Hall is joining the campaign as a senior communications adviser. He will remain a top political adviser to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, having also served as communications director after he worked on his 2018 campaign for governor. Campaign spokesman Andrew Romeo is stepping into the communications director role, and Bryan Griffin will continue as press secretary.

The DeSantis campaign has already laid off roughly a dozen people, NBC News reported. Campaign officials said that, as of now, they don’t plan any more budget-related layoffs. (read more)

Again, it won’t work. Everything is fake, manufactured, astroturf, based on a foundation of fraud… And, inauthentic.

The candidate sucks and the candidate’s wife is a Cindy McCain clone trying to be more like Sarah Palin. Yup, more fakery.

The smallness of their naked ambition is as visible as the artificial nature of the pretending that began long before the “book tour.” They are in the self-fulfilling downward spiral where every effort extended to ask people to like them only looks more pathetic and weaker.

Once they have played out the cancer card, they’re done.

Please explain.

I’m interested in what you had to say because it dovetails what is happening globally with what is being termed a populist uprising. I don’t know if you are familiar with Dr. Steve Turley. He is on YouTube as well as Rumble and other platforms. I would recommend listening to some of his videos on the theory of populist uprising. Very interesting and many parts of his theory resonate with our current political climate.

WOW I just came to the realization you are correct and you have been correct about Desantis from the beginning. Your acumen and wisdom —just like all the other Desantis haters here has finally convinced me Desantis IS DEEP STATE. Probably even secretly married to George Soros and a communist to boot.

It’s easy as we all know and admit money is the crux to the deep state evil. They charge enormous taxes, get money from oppressive foreign regimes and reap enormous gains from insider trading etc etc etc. most importantly they USE money to buy politicians. Wouldn’t you all agree?

Let’s compare EVIL, DEEP STATE Desantis to the rest:

Pelos—cool 114 MILLION Dollars, not bad for a salary of under 200k a year Schumer—70 million
Feinstein—100 million
Mitch M—35 million
Sleepy Joe—8 million
Even Bernie Sanders, an admitted socialist 3 million

Now DEEP STATE DESANTIS—- 1.7 million…… wait….what????

Desantis actually recently made a cool 1 million dollars on his recent book, that means before that he had a value of ..get this a STAGGERING SOROS and BILL GATES LIKE WEALTH OF 700,000 dollars. Now I’d like to have 700 grand in my bank but considering his salary is 150,000 a year that seems about right for a thrifty and smart guy.

Summary: I’m watching my eldest daughters two dogs this weekend. My opinion of their ability to correctly read the true intent of Desantis involvement in the DEEP STATE is less than yours…but just barely and as well as and the rest of the Desantis haters around here.

He’s proven to be a back-stabber. He should have kept his mouth shut. Everyone knows Trump baits his competitors. That’s his style. DeSantis should have taken the high road and ignored Trump’s insults. He’s be perceived to be a saint and worthy of Trump’s VP/ APPRENTICE.

There’s nothing depressing about being grown up enough to accept and act upon hard truths.

I kinda liked Vivek until I found out how he trashed Trump and the Jan6th protest blaming both Trump and the protesters vociferously. The other day on TV he repeated that he blamed Trump and the protest

Missed that. Very disappointing if he did so. Do you have a link showing this? Thanks.

He will probably never recover from this. Too bad, because he's a good man who just got overeager on the advice of people with an purely anti-Trump agenda.

You can't run successfully when all you are is against somebody. Despite being too far right for the general election, that was his problem. I wish he could have waited.

The problem (or one of the problems) with DeSantis is that he can’t win on his own merits. As you said, his only chance is for Trump to drop out and endorse him. He can’t win, he can just be carried across the finish line.

It is a competition and he needs to fight to win if he is going to have a chance. But he comes across as a wimp. He should be going toe to toe with Trump and proving why he is the better choice. Not riding the line of trying to not overly upsetting the big bad Trump.

If DeSantis would grow some balls and be his own man, he has a good chance. But as long as everyone thinks his only chance is for the front runner to quit and endorse him, he will fail.

Can’t buy charisma or authenticity.

DeSoros thought he could ride a few anti-woke messages into the presidency. He MAY be effective as governor-—that is, who knows how effective he’d be without a totally compliant legislature? But these are in the big picture small-ball issues compared to Ukraine war, illegal criminals, and above all the weaponization of the DoJ against one person ONLY.

And you cannot attack the “weaponization” of the DOJ and not support Trump. Sort of like having a humidifier and dehumidifier going at the same time.

Trump is only in the position he’s in because he has the largest core of supporters whose #1 priority is commitment to him regardless of his many drawbacks and really don’t care about losing the general election. I’m convinced that he could announce a detailed amnesty plan and still win the primary, which would kill any other campaign. He’s already campaigning like a Democrat railing against Social Security and Medicare reform. In a large field, these unreasonable and unpersuadable people loom large over the process.

You think that Trump supporters “don’t care about losing the general election”?

That is a ridiculous statement.

You started off strong with the “Trump is only in the position he is in because he has the largest core of supporters” but your logic really went down hill after that.

It’s a true statement. It’s not that Trump supporters want to lose, but they don’t spend a lot of time weighing risks.

What’s the plan if Trump is in prison next fall? With 2 outstanding cases, another imminent and another in the pipeline in GA, you know that’s a real possibility and maybe even a probability, right?

There is almost no chance of any of the trials Trump is involved with being complete prior to the election. That is simply a fact. Normal criminal trials can get dragged out for months or years. Anything this high profile is even likelier to take longer.

You talk about not weighing risks. How would you weigh the risk of a candidate that can’t get more than 22% of the Republican vote?

The GOP nominee will carry 90%+ of the Republican vote so their primary preference isn’t really relevant to actually winning the white house. On that score, DeSantis polls better than Trump in the states that actually pick presidents. That’s where risk calculation actually matters unless you don’t care about 4 more years of this maniac.
