As a hobby I write fan fiction short stories where two fictional people meet up and collaborate
About three years ago I did one where Nero Wolfe was accused of murder while on a trip to California and hired Perry Mason.

Somebody on a Rex Stout fan club page on FB read it and said I should do more of these.
So I am “researching” Charlie Chan books and movies for a short story called, “The Chinaman’s Dilemma” where Charlie Chan’s #2 Daughter Francis is accused of murdering a Taiwanese business man in NYC. Chan has no legal right to investigate in NYC since he is from the Honolulu PD and hires Wolfe to clear his daughter’s name.
