I lean towards A: Trump is highlighting the injustice. Trump is a master and making the news media help him make his story the main story. He's running for office --> expect him to try to get attention like he did before.
As far as Trump's tactic working only with his base and not Dims, this is primary season. The PR is meant mainly for the base anyway.

So he would rather advance himself than help indict and open the eyes of millions who are being fooled, give validation to the millions of his followers being sh** on, and help bring the corruption to light. He would rather advance his primary chances than lay back and let it not be about him winning but about the truth coming out?

He’s trying to make bedt of bad situation. Clearly the left feels the more they pile on legally the greater the likelihood he wins the GOP nomination. That’s what they want. As much as his base will vote for him no matter, the independents, blue collar Dems, regular Repubs are not going to vote for a candidate under multiple federal indictments. Hence Biden or whoever wins going away.
