These "non-human" spacecrafts seem to have had a lot of accidents.

Perhaps some are automated and subject to accidents. Super sophisticated equipment is subject to breakdowns. We can’t even keep our F-35s from augering in on our own planet in our own atmosphere. Why would theirs be perfect following such travel? Also, we might be shooting them down.
