That's one of the reasons I am shocked when people say this story is at odds with the Biblical narrative. They are obviously venturing thoughts based only on a very limited knowledge of the current situation.
I have noticed people still suggesting "extraterrestrials from distance star systems." No one (that I know) has taken that idea seriously since Vallee published "The Invisible College" back in 1975.
I still think it is strong possibility. It seems to be a collection of possibilities. So, now you know one: me. ;-D
“extraterrestrials from distance star systems”
The concept itself is so confusing that folks who understand this subject laugh at the phrase.
How many centuries would it take before a race that colonized or lived on a planet could be said to be “extraterrestrials”.
If in fact we have some DNA from “extraterrestrials” or engineered by “extraterrestrials” then does that make us “extraterrestrials”?
It is language itself that muddies the waters.
I am persuaded by whistleblowers that the technology exists (portals, natural and artificial and combined) to travel any distance in space (and they claim time as well). In such a universe everything is “close” to everything else in the only way that really matters—travel time.

Hollywood has been setting up society for this narrative for several decades to easily convince those left behind that it WASN’T the rapture.
AND... they’ve been dumbing DOWN society at the same time, to the point they will believe just about anything they are told to... (safe and effective.. cough cough)
