A Civiqs poll found that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' poll numbers have dropped to an all-time low among likely voters. In December he was registering at 46 percent favorability, but as of June, he is now hovering at 34 percent.
Among likely voters from the poll, in December there was a one-point difference between favorable and unfavorable responses, but that gap has grown to 22 in June.
The survey was taken by over 43,000 likely voters in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Broken down by party, Democrats viewed him with a favorability rating of 3 percent, independents at 33 percent, and Republicans at 73 percent favorability.
Of the other candidates in the pack of several Republican primary nominees, former President Trump is the leader with many others, including DeSantis, running behind the former president as the likely nominee. According to 538, the latest polls calculated give Trump a favorability rating of 55.8 percent and an unfavourability rating of 39.9 percent.
The drop in DeSantis’ favorability comes shortly after his announced run, entering the race in May.
Despite the recent polls, DeSantis has said that he will “beat Biden handily in the swing states” compared to what Trump will be able to do in a general election.
After an NBC poll pointed out his drop in polls just a few days ago, DeSantis told NBC that, “at the end of the day, you know, this is a marathon, not a sprint.” He later said that the team is “doing everything we need to do in these early states” and has confidence going into the primary.
Earlier today, Trump posted an article on his Truth Social account that shows his favorability ratings have increased since his indictment, according to polls. The writeup claimed the increase in ratings is a “cry for justice” from the American people in response to the ongoing investigation.
Trump and DeSantis aside, candidates in the race for the Republican nomination are not even receiving 10 percent support, according to current poll averages from FiveThirtyEight.
Civiqs is a leftist pollster
No. I never implied that. What I said was they talked about it endlessly and they would have done so w Biden if he had won the popular vote but they did not
“Absolutely nothing except complain about it.”
He tried a bit, and you see what they did with his effort.”
“DeSantis went from a less than 1% win in Florida to nearly a 20% win in 4 years....”
What you just left out, conveniently for your freaking narrative, was that Trump campaigned for the little ingrate and pulled his sorry ass across the finish line his first time. He was way behind and just barely won. If Trump had not done so, a drug taking sodomite would have been governor.
DeSantis is not MAGA. Far from it. He voted for TPP and the other trade deals that would have ended American sovereignty completely. Trump’s first actions in office was to get rid of them.
He’s a RINO, he’s a lawyer and his wife owns him. Three strikes and he’s out. I would never vote for him in the primary and I’d have to hold my nose to vote for him in the general election, but I don’t have to worry about that since he’ll never be the nominee.
He’s a RINO, he’s a lawyer and his wife owns him. Three strikes and he’s out.
That sort of talk is gonna piss off the Desantis cucks infesting FR.
What you left out is how he governed in Florida, which doesn’t fit your narrative.
There are always excuses with Trump, quoting you, he tried a bit and you see what they did with his efforts. All I know, he and every other candidate who has alleged cheating and taken cases to court have lost every time. It’s the classic definition of insanity to repeat the same actions over and over and expect a different outcome.
Trump tried to outlaw Bump Stocks, he nominated Jeff Sessions to AG, then Sessions named a special prosecutor and started RussiaGate, what that MAGA.
He then replaced Sessions with Bill Barr who did nothing but undermine Trump...he fired Comey and replaced him with Wray who has had the FBI investigate him, was that MAGA.
Trump allowed Fauci to be the face of Covid, to this day, Trump has offered far more criticisms of DeSantis than Fauci, not very MAGA to me.
I’m all for MAGA, the single biggest problem with MAGA and it will eventually kill the movement.
True 100% Trump and MAGA supporters have alienated so many people who aren’t 100% MAGA to the point, they can’t win national elections.
The 35-40% of the country that is MAGA can’t win national elections unless you attract more people and you can’t do that attacking people who are 90% MAGA or as Kari Lake did, tell McCain supporters to get the hell out of her rallies.
MAGA is in no position to tell people to “get the hell out” unless they want to be perpetual losers.
“True 100% Trump and MAGA supporters have alienated so many people who aren’t 100% MAGA to the point, they can’t win national elections.”
Really now.
Trunp won more votes his second time that any other incumbent president in history. Is that alienation? Again, if you truly believe that the idiot got 81 plus million votes, then you are hopeless.
Also, voters vote for the man, not his supporters.
But you failed to mention DeSantis’s vote for TPP, the Asian trade agreement that was structured after the Brussels, United Europe, trade agreement and would have ended the sovereignty of the United States. I am sure his globalist backers have told him he can have any conservative cultural issue he wants, just give them TPP. Then it won’t matter.
You do know he has all the globalist backers, and the Bushes, etc.
i’m kinda surprised it’s not much higher, given that neither Democrats nor MAGA conservatives have much use for him ...
He is the only one during our lifetimes to offer a solution to the evil trend. (Reagan was close but had too big a burden to handle that early in time.)
Others turn out to be Mitch or Mitt. Our one chance may have been taken from us if Trump was all we had.
We can pray together in the concentration camps and try to forgive the woke types who let us be enslaved. God forbid.
Check out my meme: the first time DeSnakis showed his true colors.
Please steal this meme.
Really nice rebuttal there, odawg.
“Winning” for RINOs and globalists is not winning for We the People. The Republican corporatist, open the borders, world government wing of the party essentially hijacked the GOP many years ago.
Now Trump has hijacked the GOP back to its rightful owners, We the People — and that includes a lot of independents and Joe Six Pack, Judy Wine Coolers who are being disenfrancised on both sides — the radical Leftist communists on the Dem side and the oligarchist, corporate welfare types on the GOP side.
The answer is to back the MAGA movement and President Trump’s reelection.
A meme of resplendent beauty!!
Ha! Thanks, aMorePerfectUnion... MAGA!
Conservatism is in its death throes. Trump epitomizes Bill Clinton in countless manners, and many people now longer care about principles, they just want a prince. One who lives lavishly, and promiscuously, as a way to prove their power. Until we start judging our politicians by their morals, at least a little bit, we will continue to be misled.
And they’re very poor judges of character. DeSantis screams inauthenticity. But they want to believe he’s something he’s not because they hate Trump. Yeah, there are a few around here who like both, but most of the DeSantis supporters are motivated by hatred of Trump more than any other emotion. It’s what causes them to elevate such a mediocre person to being the next George Washington. They are indeed living in a hannity and colmes world. They’ve learning nothing from the events of the last 8 years.
DeSantis may have done permanent damage to his future as a viable Presidential candidate.
Not sure about that, but whoever the hell is advising him didn’t do him any favors.
I’m Trump all the way in 2024. But was hoping DeSantis would be solid for 2028. Not sure that’s the case, now.
I’ll take your word about DeSantis voting for TPP if you will accept Trump’s decision to ban bump stocks, appoint Sessions and Barr AG and naming Wray as FBI Director were colossal mistakes that have cost Trump and all of Americans
BTW, you failed to mention anything about DeSantis and his record of Governing Florida and winning reelection by nearly 20%
