Trump appointed Gen. Milley and Trump did not fire Gen. Milley.
The above is not meant to be a complaint. Instead, it’s a hope that Trump has learned from his mistakes.
Yes, and take the next step of appointing better people.
I made a recommendation last week on FR that for Trump to get rid of the deep state, he needs to appoint people from the private sector. You can’t appoint people from government because they are the swamp. Another Freeper had the audacity to shoot that down because anyone from the private sector would be eaten alive by the deep state.
So what’s the next step? Maybe it doesn’t reside in people, but rather in defunding.
That’s a fair concern about Trump’s hiring decisions, but on the other hand, a President ought to be able to pick anyone from the top ranks of the military and not have to worry about the SOB being loyal to him and to the United States.
Surely you are aware that Trump had no ability to fire Milley after the Comey firing. After that, Graham and McConnell were very open that they would support impeachment for any more firings. Also Trump had to choose from McConnell’s list. McConnell the closet homo (kicked out of the Army) refused to go into recess for the entire Trump presidency to prevent recess appointments. He did it for Obama, but not for Trump.
Not to mention, among American generals and admirals, there is nothing else to choose from except woke. There is not a single three or four star extant that is different to the slightest degree. Probably nobody above Colonel.
