Yes, and take the next step of appointing better people.
I made a recommendation last week on FR that for Trump to get rid of the deep state, he needs to appoint people from the private sector. You can’t appoint people from government because they are the swamp. Another Freeper had the audacity to shoot that down because anyone from the private sector would be eaten alive by the deep state.
So what’s the next step? Maybe it doesn’t reside in people, but rather in defunding.

I like that idea. Would such folks be outmaneuvered by the Deep State? Not if they are prepared, and tough and smart enough. So Trump would have to choose carefully.
The problem for you, and your low iq friends, is that Trump did not get the final say on who he appoints and who he doesn’t. The senate has an advise and consent fiction that completely controls who Trump can appoint. So for Trump, it was ether work with McConnell or perform every function of the executive on his own. Just so you know, that’s not possible. Even for Trump.

That was a centerpiece of his campaign. But it was stopped cold by McConnell’s treason (refused to ever go into recess or let Trump appoint unless cleared with him, and threatened impeachment for any firings after Comey), FBI (Comey) and DOJ (Yates) immediately dishonestly moving against Mike Flynn.
And then there was an organized street terror and boycott campaign against anyone who would go to work for him. Walking around in fear at restaurants, being refused service, family members fired from unrelated businesses, personal careers ended. It was more than enough to dry up the pool of people who he wanted. He was left with family, very inexperienced, and Generals basically assigned to be Chief of Staff (while spying on him).
