CTH has said for a year the Achilles heel Ron DeSantis carries, the weak spot that outlines his neocon nature, becomes extremely visible on the subject of Ukraine.
Twice previously, DeSantis has tried to walk the tightrope and navigate his lies surrounding the Ukraine war. Each time he outlines something that leans toward Ukraine needing to concede to Russia and NATO needing to stop meddling on Russia borders, he immediately walks back his comments. DeSantis is stuck on the issue of Ukraine because DeSantis cannot be honest about his position on Ukraine.
Today in South Carolina [Forbes got the state wrong in the title] the issue of Ukraine surfaced in a public Q&A (video below), and both times DeSantis ducked, obfuscated, distracted and refused to answer the question. The second person asked more directly, “What are you going to do about the war in Ukraine?”, because DeSantis never answered the first questioner. WATCH [prompted to 01:08:23]
.
Only Donald Trump has the solution to the Ukraine war. (1) Stop NATO, namely U.S. created, from provoking nonsense antagonisms on Russia’s border; and (2) Force Zelenskyy to the negotiation table of reality. The Ukraine war stops immediately the day after the 2024 election, if Trump wins.
However, Ron DeSantis cannot take that attitude or foreign policy approach. DeSantis must maintain the approved Republican pro-war narrative as outlined by Democrats, Republicans, UniParty, and the DC political leadership writ large. The DC position on the Ukraine war is all about money; DeSantis must maintain that policy.

Watching that clip of him being questioned was so telling. Not good at all. I hate it when it is so obvious that they are trying to change the subject by immediately bringing up something else they are prepared to talk about.
DeSantis literally DOES NOT have a position on Ukraine, likely because it doesn’t interest him. Otherwise he’d state his position and be able to defend it.
Instead he first gave an answer stating that he was against World War 3, and that TOTALLY PISSED OFF his handlers.
So he flipped to the Neocon position...and at that moment, his COLLAPSE in the polls started.
So now he confused - does he continue to parrot what his handlers demand, and lose - or does he take the anti-WW3 side and become competitive again?
He’s literally LOST on the most important issue facing this country and the rest of the world.
👍🤣👍
The moment Ron capitulated to the GOPe and waffled on Ukraine was when the slide really began. The timing was crucial and it was a kill shot. It changed the way the base looked at him completely. We instinctively know what Ukraine has become and seeing DeSantis cozy up to the neocons was the worst thing he could have done at the time that he did it.
Would be nice to know honestly what he thinks as opposed to what his handlers want.
I've been concerned that this will sink in with people that "this guy cannot be trusted".
He has been fairly good for Florida, but sooner or later he needs to give a definitive response. And unlike GHW Bush, he doesn't have coat tails to coast on.
I don’t agree, DeSanctus last town hall attracted over 300 twitter users!!! /sarc
Isn’t his odd looking Chief of Staff a Ukrainian lobbyist?
Ukraine is our enemy as much as Russia. Just a different kind of enemy.
Ukraine is not a national security issue for the US, none of our business, and we are wasting our money, resources, and reputation being involved in it.
What a mess. If it was in our interest, why are we cozzying up with enemy India, who is buying record amounts of Russian oil to fund the war against the Ukraine?
Anyway, personally, I see the war as really a civil war between the long-former Russian state Ukraine and mother Russia. We might wish it differently, but we passed up the opportunity to engage and help Russia transition after the fall of the Soviet Union, so now we have a mess to live with. Taking sides with Ukraine is unhelpful. Russia should be our natural ally in dealing with the Islamic Cult and with China. Instead, we are pushing them all together, even getting India to pick them over us.
💯
As a member of Trump’s power base, I say continue supporting Ukraine if Russia doesn’t agree to Trump’s conditions.
The catastrophic mistake was jumping into the race at all.
He should have sat it out and cheered like crazy for Trump. Then he would be setup for the future. As it is he followed the advice of GOPe consultants and is well on his way to destroying or crippling his political career.
DeSantis is going to be the new Christie.
“Ukraine is not a national security issue for the US, none of our business, and we are wasting our money, resources, and reputation being involved in it.”
It SHOULDN’T be, but the Neocons have made it so. Now we have people like Lindsey Graham literally DEMANDING a nuclear war if the Ukrainians can pull off a false flag at the nuclear plant. So it is an issue, and DeSantis is simply ‘uninterested’ in it, which means his Neocon handlers will have full run if he magically made it to the White House.
DeSantis is the great woke warrior.
A woke warrior that is filling up his wallet with campaign cash.
It’ll take more than that to be the 2024 Republican Nominee.
this guy is lucky to be elected Governor. A total empty suit.
Notice that there are not that many still lingering in the open here, who support this fluff box.
He's really blowing it. And I'm a big Ron fan. With each passing day I'm more inclined to vote Trump in the primaries.
He is so obvious as a GOPe tool. I believe every thing about him is manufactured to appeal to those that are easily duped.
The fact that the GOPe actually thinks they can pull off this dull boy as a replacement for Trump to wiggle their agenda of nothingness back into the driver’s seat, IS pure GOPe.
Anyone who does not want to end militarily arming Nazi Ukraine is disqualified. So far, only Trump and RFK, Jr. appear to have that position.
