Hey Jonty, I’m over in Shanghai right now. Another poster below you asked if we stay and fight, or leave in disgust.
You wondered how things were over here, and after spending this time in the Shanghai area, I will most likely retire over here.
Why? Because even in the small peasant villages, everyone is happy and positive. Polite. I know understand the pride of their citizens, as they have accomplished amazing things here. I haven’t seen a single homeless person, drug addict, crazy person, or even a single piece of graffiti anywhere.
Back home already looks nearly post apocalyptic in comparison. Im horrified at what our government and elites have done to our great nation. It has been uplifting to be here, I feel their optimism.
I think, once communism is brought down, China will be on an upswing. When it comes to tyrannical government, all you can really do is close the tent door and wait for its end.
I think it’s a good strategy, if you are going to stay in China to seek the villages and not stay in the city. Learn to be self-sufficient.
That’s a good plan.
That is very interesting. Thanks for sharing :)
I experienced a lot of aggression and rudeness along with conversational stupidity beyond belief. Herds of heavily tatted land whales lumbering about. People dressed like clowns, crazy colored hair, women tatted up like circus freaks. Standing in line at the grocery store, I saw tons of massively overweight immigrants, shopping carts filled to the brim, paying with EBT cards and vouchers.Ugh.
The whole place reeked of a lack of civility and dignity. It had a vibe of a busted out, sinking, grubby has-been place. And man oh man, everything was crazily expensive, something which has gotten a lot worse since my visit. How the hell are people surviving that?
I'm sure there are still places in the 'States where things are more civil and "Old School," but what I saw, from the time I stood in line in Rome to hop the flight to Boston until I left to return, wasn't encouraging.
Here in Sicily it's God and family. The old are cared for and respected, young folks respect their elders and each other, you don't hear "m*therf*cker" (or its Italian equivalent) every other word when someone speaks, you don't see herds of tatt-covered land whales lumbering around, no street crime to speak of, there's no LGBTQWERT nonsense nor is there the in-your-face aggression and anger I found rife back in the 'States. Church bells ring every day and, by and large, the people still believe in the supremacy of God, rather than in the "supremacy" of themselves.
What the hell happened to America?
There are no homeless or drug addicts because the government likely disappeared them.
