California-based GOP donors are refusing to put their names on Ron DeSantis’s “roundtable breakfast” fundraiser in the state, according to a report from the local, right-leaning California Globe.
The event – due to be held on Monday morning at Del Paso Country Club, Sacramento – has failed to gather more than one name as a sponsor of the event, with one source telling the Globe: “They asked everyone to put their name to this and no one would. Of all the local GOP fundraisers, all refused to put their name to it or host it at their homes.”
Instead, the event’s attendees – who must pay up to $3300 for a ticket – will only be met by Steve Eggert, founder of the real estate development company Anton DevCo and long-term GOP donor. Eggert’s largest contributions have been to Kevin McCarthy’s “Protect The House” PACs, as well as John McCain, Mitt Romney, and the Republican National Committee.
Typically, the Globe correctly explains, events like these have “host committees” of upwards of a dozen donors, and are held at private residences, not venues. The news follows a steady decline in support for the Governor of Florida, who hit a new low of just 14 percent support amongst Republican voters this week.
Commitment should come before self ambition.
I call BS.
That is about on part for you folks. Maybe you might ask yourself if Trump should suspend campaign to find a good attorney or maybe spend some time reconciling with Melanie who has become scarce and by some recent reports is now living separate and no long being seen publicly with Trump.
You call bs on what, DeSanctus fan?
The article?
Okay, prove otherwise.
Don’t just post leftist, drive by comments.
Maybe you might ask yourself if Trump should suspend campaign …
Perhaps Trump should take a break…….from living RENT FREE in the DuhSanctytes heads….you poor things need a rest 😂
You sound stressed AND jealous.
Get some 😴😴
Commitment should come before self ambition.
Exactly.
I’ve read posts, here, from angry Floridians upset he took their (Gov donation) money and ran.
BS on what?
Ron, it’s not as easy as it looked when you were on the outside looking in, is it? National politics is not the same as state politics, particularly a GOP controlled state like Florida. Did’t your advisors and consultants tell you that? The magic wand no longer works as well as it used to.
The Bland Meatball is AWOL from Governing FLA.
Okay bossy. I am certain Trump will earn his votes.
Desantis had to be carried over thr finish Line in 2018. Without Trump he would have lost to a drug addict corrupt fraud.
He has done a good job generally as Governor but his support nationally was based on policy things.. a lot of projection onto him bein great we’re not based on him personally.
The Uniparty/establishment pushed him trying to kill Trump in the Primary, but the problem is, once Desantis had to actually be seen and interact it became very clear this guy just doesn’t have it.
He does not come across as authentic, at all.. is not a natural campaigner.. he’s awkward to watch… put this guy beside Trump and he’ll be demolished. His wife actually performs better on the podium than he does… this guy, once voters who didn’t live in Florida actually started to see him, rightly concluded their excitement about him was misplaced.
It’s a shame he’s likely harmed his brand very badly long term.
Exactly Right.
I doubt the FLA GOP has many if any RINO’s in State House and Senate.
DC breeds RINOs like Rabbits.
Plus Rich Anti-Trump Donors flooded him with money.
The Meatball felt 10’ Tall and Bullet Proof.
More lying and thread disruption from a desantis supporter/likely nevertrumper....
I guess that’s why they like da santis so much.... they can identify with the lying dee santis does.
However, the latest polls from Real Clear Politics show DeSantis beating Biden +1 in a national election.
Trump, in the same national poll, beats Biden by +6.
In a Michigan poll from two days ago, DeSantis beats Biden by +1 in Michigan.
In the same Michigan poll, Trump and Biden are tied, 44-44.
I think the fact that DeSantis beats Biden nationally and in Michigan is pretty darn amazing.
Agree 100%
Exactly.
Doesn’t matter if there is 1 person or 20 people running against Trump, thos people will all just be splitting the same part of the pie.
There is not one of them who is going to convince folks who like Trump to vote for them instead.
Trumps base will NOT stay home, and they will NOT vote for someone other than Trump if he’s on the ballot and as I have said since the start, when all is said and done, Trump will be the nominee, with handily over 60% of the vote.
Those saying otherwise are the same folks who told you OZ was a winner.
The Math is not there for anyone other than Trump to be the nominee.
Desantis campaign was foolish from the start, I mean literally his campaign messaging is literally effectively, Im Trump, but better… that’s a horrible message to be running with Trump in the race.
The more interesting race is honestly the Dems primary.
RFK Jr, if he gets his message out, and thanks to social and alternate media he may be able to get around the establishment gatekeepers, he certainly has the potential to win at the ballot box the Dem nomination, but with thr corruption in the Dems it will take a miracle for him to get the nomination even if every single dem votes for him.. the superdelegates can and almost certainly will deny him the nomination.
But if RFK Jr does start to get traction, what the establishment has done to Trump will look like nothing compared to what they will do to him.
He didn't want to work without a net.
Ah, so you post a trash thread about DeSantis but can’t handle discussion, just stoop to insults. Priceless.
Before the Democrats graduated to rigging national "elections", they started by rigging their own primary "elections".
Once they blew past morality and fair play like a semi truck crashing the gate doing 98, it was easy to justify stealing the presidency IN EVERYONE'S FACES.
