French and Spanish have no neuter gender, but German and Russian most certainly do. I believe the hardest thing about learning German is the gender of nouns, and the fact that about a third of German nouns are neuter. You can usually tell the gender of Russian nouns by their spelling. That’s the case with some German nouns, but not with the majority.
