Such a great tribute to one of the cinema’s greatest action heroes!
I loved the Duke! Big Jake, McClintock, Chisum, True Grit. Too many to mention but I’ll take break and watch any John Wayne movie.
America and John Wayne used to teach masculinity, but in the early 70s the left and feminists started portraying American men as “macho”, and then immigration kicked in and we started importing millions of men not from the school of quiet masculinity, both gentle and strong, intelligent and thinking, brave and calm, but from “macho” cultures displaying the worst of the overt rooster type annoying, even fake male posturing and violent impulses, loud, brash, hiding fear with BS, lashing out, quick to anger and displays of power over the weak.
The Duke was a man. The bidens are the opposite of men. That is not women, that would be an insult. The bidens and the deep state are worse than prostitutes. Male prostitutes transmitting societal AIDS every which way.
Sigma Chi.
His finest movie was Marshall Rooster Cogburn with Katy Hepburn.
I can only imagine John Wayne’s reaction to Target and their tuck-friendly swimwear. That would be even better than “dial 1 for English”.
We saw the John Wayne museum in Fort Worth. It was phenominal, and I highly recommend it.
I once watched “The Sands of Iwo Jima” with my father, who was a WWII Marine veteran. He had fought on Guam and Okinawa but not Iwo Jima. He thought the movie was realistic.
He became a top rated movie star but never seem to forget the US made that possible and that the US was the greatest country in the world. Today’s Hollywood stars, top pro athletes and social media billionaires after they make a fortune appear to turn against the country that made their fortune possible.
Such a loss of a great actor and patriotic American.
We will not see his like again. Rio Bravo and The Searchers among many other movies he made stand at the very top of American culture icons.
His film, “The Sons of Katie Elder” is now being offered
by YT Movies & TV, gratis. A favorite JW flick, here.

He was an actor.
I like “The Shootist,” except for every scene with Ron Howard in it.
As John Bernard Booker in The Shootist he said one of his best descriptions of what a man does to Gillam (Ron Howard)...
He was in the best version of ‘True Grit’ and “The Searchers’ is pretty darn good. John Wayne movies I bet bring in more viewers on tv even after decades and decades have gone by then the newer movies shown.
He might have won the Oskar for “Red River” except that it came out in 1946 which was the same year as ‘The Best Years of Our Lifes” about returning G.I.’s.
