Ultimately what gaslighting proves, especially since it does happen at the institutional level like government and not just in individual human relationships, is how stupid and evil so many humans are. It also shows how stupid and weak so many other humans are. The evil human (i.e. the gaslighter) needs the weak human to gaslight in the first place. Both are stupid of course.
Propaganda works on weak minded humans.
The whole concept of America was supposed to be Limited Government.
Your neighbors matter. Your state matters. The federal government? [shrug] Those guys are a thousand miles away, and they don’t really do anything, so who cares about the national government?
But we threw it all away. Now the federal government controls everything.
And the whole concept of Limited Government is based on the realization that People Are Bad. You can’t trust strangers. They will gaslight you, rob you, kill you, cheat you, and generally eff you over. Don’t let others have power over you. It will never turn out well.
