For me, it would help to layout the case in a timeline with simple language and repeating names so it is clear who did what. Example:
- January 1, 2001: Joe (VP of Operations) is in the copy room, when Ashley (Assistant Media Buyer) enters. Joe says "I like your dress," referring to a neon pink dress with enormous ribbons. This is notable because Ashley normally always wears gray.
- February 1, 2001: Joe caught Ashley stealing a coworker's lunch from the office refrigerator and told the owner of the lunch. This was not unusual, since Joe sits next to the kitchen, and part of his job is guarding lunches.
- February 2, 2001: Ashley notified HR that about Joe's "dress" comment and that she felt abused.
- July 2001: Jezebel (VP of Customer Service) applies for a job on Joe's team but does not even get an interview because Jezebel has no relevant experience.
- March 1, 2023: Joe is on his way to see Jezebel. As Joe approaches Jezebel's office, he meets Sally (customer service agent who works under Jezebel). Joe says to Sally, "Did you move? I haven't seen you here early like I used to." This comment was notable because Sally and Joe are normally two of the earliest employees who see each other frequently in the office workout room. Sally replied, "No, I started carpooling with my boyfriend." This conversation was outside Jezebel's office, and Jezebel heard the entire exchange.
- March 24, 2023: While monitoring the office kitchen for lunch thieves, Joe catches Sally eating the last 7 donuts, even though the sign over the donut box says "Eat only one." Joe told Sally this was against procedure, but Joe did not report the incident to anyone.
- April 1, 2023: Sally complains to her boss Jennifer that Joe's "Did you move?" comment caused her trauma.
- April 7, 2023: Bertha and Nancy (new HR managers) call Joe into a meeting and recount the events above.
In this example, the sequence suggest that Sally is getting revenge. Sally and Jezebel did not go to HR until after Sally was caught violating the donut rules.

Yes. I agree this is great. Thanks.
This is what my guy should write up to bring to the attorney and then perhaps have the attorney attach to a letter in which he (the attorney) demands the timeline as written up be entered into the employees’ files.
