Yup...the Tuskegee Airmen...truly members of The Greatest Generation.
Underepresentation because of failure to meet a legitimate performance/qualifying standards is not systemic discrimination.
Liberals see this as removing the glass ceiling rather than lowering the bar.
Study harder, prepare more thoroughly. If you fail, then so be it. America’s enemies won’t let you cry your way to a second chance in an aerial dogfight.
Because the USAAF didn't lower its standards. I don't know the washout rate in that program, nor do I know the washout rate in the regular USAAF fighter pilot training programs. Comparing them might be interesting to some folks.
Asians aren't a minority?
I’ve met several.
A good reason to think clearly before enlisting in today’s military. Do you REALLY want to be ferried around by someone who ‘got their wings’ because of their color, and not their skills ?
Not sure the numbers but I did read that men washed out at Tuskegee that would have passed at the all white training centers.
That is great!
IF that is true, it would show that maintaning standards is far more important than “diversity”.
Well what can go wrong. Unqualified SJW who HATE the country and HATE the white race are being promoted to protect the nation and people they hate!!! This will not end well.
🤔
“Something a fairly new male pilot never did…“
When a male pilot does it you can at least be certain his ability and accomplishment justified his presence in the cockpit.
I believe the jet suffered compressor stall on final approach to the carrier. I believe she ejected, but the jet was at such an angle that rather then the seat going up, it was launched in either a horizontal or even a slightly downward angle.
she died in the accident and destroyed an expensive war machine.
Huh? This has been going on unofficial since the time I was in USAF pilot training in 1990.
If you were a woman, minority, or politically connected, you got multiple breaks and retries in UPT.
Whew, Capt. QuestionMark just executed the most epic CYA of all time.
Worse than that, she was down rated several times but left in the program. Killed by political correctness
Paragraph 5: “Without further guidance proving it to be illegal......”
After paragraph 3 asserted it was discrimination and against USAF policy.
This is Orwell’s 1984, live and in stereo. No one can make an objective observation without being told what the objective observation should be, from the powers that be.
During the Vietnam War there was a project called “Project one-hundred-thousand.” The idea was that if you redirected people heading to prison to the military it would save on prison costs and the military would turn these people around. I had a relative in the OSI who spent several years running cases on these guys. They were robbers, rapists, assaulters and a host of other crimes. Lo-and-behold they did the same crimes in the military they had done in civilian guise, but the military had to use the cumbersome military justice system to get rid of them. Some of them it took years to purge out of the system. Social engineering of any sort rarely works. That’s because you actually have to change the culture. So, say, midnight basketball won’t work because the people you’re trying to redirect from killing each other are...killers. Not basketball players.
