CEO Survey Ranks Texas #1 State for Business, California #50 - 9 of 10 Worst Have Dem Governors

“California’s economy is the envy of the world,” Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) boasted Monday, proclaiming May “Small Business Month” in the California – but, a new national survey of CEOs ranks the Golden State the worst state for business in 2023.

In his statement, Gov. Newsom said California has more small businesses of any other state and touted new DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) initiatives, but failed to mention that companies are fleeing to other states that are more business-friendly.

According to Chief Executive magazine’s 2023 “Best and Worst States for Business” survey, California ranks dead last: “The Golden State’s anti-business policies have been chasing enterprises to elsewhere for many years, but California’s fiscal environment has gotten much worse over the last couple of years as Silicon Valley giants have been laying off hundreds of thousands of workers.”

Meanwhile, Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s state ranks as the best state for business, followed by Florida under Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and Tennessee, led by Republican Gov. Bill Lee. […]

Perhaps a better measure would be past governor history and state legislatures.

A governor can only do so much, especially it the legislature can override his veto.

And, in Texas, the Lt. Gov is by far more ‘powerful’ than the Governor.

Good for business = sell out our western cultural identity in the name of non-western immigration and “meritocracy” favoring non-westerners and their children. Tell me I am wrong.
