A jury found four former Commonwealth Edison executives and lobbyists guilty of bribery-related charges Tuesday as part of an eight-year conspiracy scheme centered around former Democratic Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.
In the highest-profile corruption case in Illinois in more than a decade, the jury convicted the defendants on all counts.
"We're tired of political corruption," juror Amanda Schnitker Sayers said after the verdict. "We're hoping this is a first step."
The Chicago veterinarian put the blame on Madigan.
"He really did cause this all to happen," she said.
Although Madigan wasn't on trial, the longest-serving state legislative leader in U.S. history has been charged with 23 counts of racketeering, bribery and official misconduct in a separate case that could go to trial in April 2024.

Yeah, Ms. Sayers, the rest of us know exactly how you feel.
Mr. Madigan's trial is still a year away from being held, but these convictions and the evidence presented at this trial, go a long way in supporting his conviction as well.
If I’m defense attorney, I immediately ask for a mistrial, sounds to me like at least this one juror was pre-disposed to render a guilty verdict on the basis of her statement, how can anyone get a fair trial if jurors have made up their mind ahead of time? /s
4 convicted after 8 years

To understand the scope of the problem, go to rumble and watch the first 10 minutes of Jackie Berger’s testimony to Arizona regarding election fraud and payoffs.
4 people is barely a drop in the bucket.
Usually, I’d tell her to stop voting Democrat and to start voting Republican but in Illinois, the Republicans are almost as corrupt as the Democrats. Illinois needs a Reform Party.
Thanks for a great post. (enjoyed your bio too)
Really? Let's see if Illinois stops voting Democrat in upcoming "elections".
