Fox News Tonight's viewer count plummeted by about 700,000 on Monday night (24 April) following the ousting of host Tucker Carlson.
It was announced that same morning by Fox that Carlson would be leaving the network with immediate effect.
The decision was a shock to Fox News viewers - and likely to Carlson, who appeared to be unaware that he was leaving during his last show.
On average, Carlson's programme had been earning about 3.3 millions viewers per night before his departure - people just love hearing his hot takes on M&Ms and climate change.
But, according to TVNewser, approximately 2,597,000 tuned in to Fox News Tonight, hosted by the first of a number of rotating hosts, Brian Kilmeade.
That's a decline of more than 20 percent.

What about Tuesday night? Tens of thousands of at the “asleep at the wheel” viewers probably tuned into Fox Monday night thinking they would see Tucker.
And how many have continued to tune in for the substitute host? Some may have tuned in Monday night just to see what was on in that time slot. Then tune out after that.
Oh my. My, my, my.
And lots are going over to Newsmax, I’m glad I did. I watched their entire primetime lineup last night and was pleasantly surprised how pro MAGA and Trump they’ve become.
Check them out for yourselves people, like me, you may feel a sense of relief that you’re not being driven to boredom by the same old tired hosts at FNC anymore.

I watched the one last thing of the 5 which is the only reason I record it. There’s no option for singling out particular parts of the show on DVR. I saw parts of the show. I thought this is CNN

They don't care. Murdock sons are in charge. Rupert was not going to live forever anyway. So Fox News is basically CNN lite.
They want to compete with CNN for worst ratings
Folks may have tuned in Monday to see if any reason was forthcoming. What were the Tuesday numbers? Anyone? Bueller?
I knew it was all over for Fox when they hired Donna Brazile.
Tuesday numbers down almost 50%.
What I don’t understand is why more Conservatives don’t boycott. It is easy and effective. It is a powerful tool we have. My guess is many Conservatives will continue watching Fox and vacation at Disneyworld.
Like Dave Rubin, I hope he gets his own studio set up somewhere in Paradise with his family.
