Obie is the Communist ‘front man” and as you say, Jarrett is the manipulator and the brains. There was always a strong Middle East financial and brain trust behind Obie’s gaining access to the WH, but the Communist tilt in the U.S. has Obie’s imprimatur all over it. How could Obie turn out any other way with Alynski and Frank Marshal Davis as his mentors and the influence of his CIA operative mother, Stanley Dunham?
