Twitter owner Elon Musk took the leftist U.K.-based BBC to the woodshed when the latter accused the platform of being plagued by a rise of so-called “hate speech.”
BBC North America technology reporter James Clayton bemoaned how there’s “not enough people to police” the left’s hate speech bogeyman through censorship on Twitter during an Apr. 11 Twitter Spaces interview with Musk. Musk wasn’t having any of Clayton’s virtue-signaling about the vague “hate speech” concept and pressed him to be more specific. “What hate speech are you talking about,” Musk asked. “Do you see a rise in hate speech,” Musk continued. Clayton claimed he has “personally” seen more hateful content but wasn’t going to “talk for the rest of Twitter.”
Musk then narrowed his Socratic method-styled inquiry to probe Clayton’s own personal observations and asked him to provide a definition of what constitutes hate speech: “Content you don’t like or hateful? What do you mean? Describe a hateful thing.” Clayton offered an overly broad reference to content that's supposedly “slightly racist or slightly sexist.” When Musk called for specific examples, Clayton just started fumbling over his words and couldn’t name a specific example.

Johnny Rotten pointing out what a pig Jimmy Savile was back in the 70s, would have been called “Hate Speech” by the BBC.
I like Musk not rolling over for libtard journos. I also like it he makes them roll over, uncomfortably.
Another Journo looking to make a name for himself...looking like a fool. There’s a reason he’s a CEO and successful owner of multiple mega projects. He’s not going to be tossed around by some smug virtue signaling moron.
...when the guy says “slightly” I just rolled my eyes, yeah, government should decide - what could go wrong?
There are two kinds of people who abuse the word hate, Democrats, and Leftists.
The same goes for abusing the words “Our Democracy”. Words that by the way do not in any way, shape of form refer to the United States of America.
Embarrassing a “journalist” is too easy for Elon.
He probably gets up in the morning and if he feels like a little amusement has somebody schedule him for an interview with one of these baby seals.
Hate speech is any honest criticism. Everyone has that right.
This is what happens when you say prove it to one of their talking points.
Got to love those organizations that thrive on the first amendment want to limit it for others.
There is a lot of hate speech from “liberals” everywhere.
