Oddly enough, she was actually born in Canada... So Mary being named as 'America's Sweetheart' was one of the first examples of 'fake news'.

There were rumors that Pikford’s mother was the one who shot William Desmond Taylor. Her or Fatty Arbuckle. The murder was never solved.

As a young boy in Dublin, I posted pictures of Mary Pickford on the walls of my bedroom, living room and on the outside of my bog hut. I continue to this day. I just ordered a Fathead graphic of Mary Pickford that I intend to put in the back seat of my car.
