President Donald Trump slammed “neo-con rhetoric” from Republicans in the face of a potential world war this week in a new policy video, warning of the dangers of “simple-minded thinking” that could thrust the U.S. into the midst of a global war.
“Those such as Mitt Romney and Ron DeSantis — very much alike — who insist on arrogantly treating Russia as deeply inferior to the other nations of the world, with no history or culture or pride, are not only ignorant and foolish, but their attitude makes it impossible to negotiate peace,” he said. “Absolutely impossible.”
He continued, “Under my administration, we were tough on Russia — tougher than any administration before — but we also demonstrated RESPECT for Russia and the Russian people. We demonstrated understanding for Russian history, and the fact that Russia lost over 20 million lives in World War II. They were fighting with us. This kind of neo-con rhetoric, mocking Russia’s nuclear weapons, along with implying that Putin must be tried and presumably executed as a war criminal, only increases the chance of deadly nuclear escalation. Fundamentally, it shows a lack of depth, a lack of seriousness, and a lack of sophistication on the subtleties and complexities of foreign policy. You can’t do certain things and end up with peace.”
Amid escalating tensions in Eastern Europe and the rise of China as a serious global power threat, Trump noted that now “is not the time for on-the-job training as we face the possibility of nuclear war.”
He added, “We need a statesman and a peacemaker in the White House, not someone who recites mindless and recycled talking points to win the approval of the failed foreign policy establishment. They didn’t know what they were doing. In 2024, I am the only candidate who can prevent World War III. I will prevent World War III — there’s nobody else that’s going to do that.”
Last week, President Trump hammered Governor Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., and highlighted the “weaknesses” of the potential GOP primary contender in 2024. “Number one he’s got no personality,” Trump told the press. “That tends to be bad for a politician. But in addition to personal flaws, I think he’s got a real problem with the fact that he wanted to destroy Social Security. He was a disciple of Paul Ryan – remember the ‘wheelchair over the cliff Paul Ryan’ who cost Romney the election?”
According to a Trump campaign statement, “endless-war neo-cons like Jeb Bush, George Bush, and Karl Rove have all been advising DeSantis.”
DeSantis let the GOPe move him away from his initial stance when he was with the base. Bad move and miscalculation that may have shredded his chances. The Republican establishment has no clue just how fed up the base is with the nation killing tsunami of money the rats and the neocons are sending over there.
I think Trumps handling of Ukraine could end up looking reminiscent of Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Putin will hold out until Trump is sworn in, and then he’ll push to overrun the country. I don’t get the impression that Trump would stop him.

Trump publicly confirmed the Obama State Dept was behind the Maidan Uprising in Ukraine

Obama and Co didn’t care for Ukraine legally electing whom they will, so in comes the Color Revolution. McCain and Nuland were both onstage in Ukraine agitating in their own way.
The world doesn’t belueve Kirby, Blinken, and Biden’s talk or how NATO believes in “sovereignty” of nations when they illegally broke their defensive charter and attacked Libya even though Libya had attacked no NATO member and on unproven allegations Gaddafi was going to kill 10k of his own people. NATO also did the same thing against Serbs.
But Gaddafi did want a gold-backed, unified African currency and nationalized Libya’s oil.
DeSantis heading to Israel ahead of likely 2024 bid
Doesn't really matter who gets elected folks.
The Meatball from FLA wants war, just like Linda Graham, Liz Cheney and
the rest of the War Mongers.
Trumps accusing DeSantis of simple minded thinking? Isn’t Trump the one who says he’ll end the war in 24 hours, but did not tell us how?
“The Republican establishment has no clue”
Period.
Threaten Putin with charges of war crimes? Execution? A guy who sits on lots of nukes? Brilliant diplomacy..
Deriding Desantis, Trump says. “We need a statesman”... which the dictionary describes as someone “wise”. Does anyone think DT after multiple failed marriages is “wise”? Smart? Definitely. Wise? No way imo.
Agree with it all except having a hard time following Trump when he discusses the intentions of other Pubbies when it comes to the future of the Social Security program. He seems to be parroting a noxious old Donkey Party talking point to the point that he is using it as a cudgel with which to beat them into submission. Willing to continue listening to Trump on this but he must get past this superficial attack and explain what he appears to see as bad intent re Social Security.
Anyone who achieves peace through strength in the arena of international relations is wise.
He’s earned trust and confidence on this issue. He has credibility.
Yawn. Watch the DeSantis hour long speech from the Pa Leadership Conference yesterday. Impressive.
Argue policy, period. Whomever I believe will attract the most votes across America will get my vote.
Quoting bagster: #SilenceMeatball
DeSantis needs to go to finishing school.
Trump has been chose by God for this time. So yes, he is wise. Trump has led a more “American” life than virtually anyone, and he is the contrast to the anti-American scum on the left and in the crony RINO establishment. Trump is as American as it gets.
“...even though Libya had attacked no NATO member and on unproven allegations Gaddafi was going to kill 10k of his own people. “
Khaddafi had withrawn and, shockingly, become relatively moderate, only to be crushed underfoot for his trouble by Sec State Clinton
