Looking for more proof that one-party Democrat states like California and New York are becoming virtual dictatorships? Look no further than Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who has overseen a massive crime wave due to his pro-crime policies. But that's not all he's been up to - he's also been targeting political opponents, including an unprecedented attempt to revive a misdemeanor for falsifying business documents that expired years ago against none other than former President Donald Trump.
It's obvious to all except the most delusional that this coming indictment is just a way to torpedo his campaign for President. And as we've seen with the recent prosecutions of hundreds of J6 protestors, it all hinges on where Trump is tried. Going before a Manhattan judge as well as a jury of New York liberals, there's a chance he could be convicted. But appeals will be forthcoming, and there's no way this gets past them. In fact this may very well ensure that he is once again in the White House come 2024.
The Justice Department has attempted this kind of tyranny once before when they tried to prosecute John Edwards on even stronger allegations. They were unsuccessful
Trump's personal attorney, Timothy Parlatore, believes that a prior Supreme Court case involving former Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie could be used as a legal precedent favorable to Trump in the indictment.
"A lot of people think intent to defraud that just means intent to deceive," he said. "So if you have a hush money payment, the write in as if it's an attorney fee, that's an intent to deceive. But an intent to defraud is required to have the additional element of to try to deprive somebody of money or property. And that's certainly not present here, whatsoever."Trump's refusal to bend to the left's will has been met with constant bogus investigations and accusations."If you falsify the records to try and get somebody to pay you extra money that you're not otherwise entitled to, that's intent to defraud," he continued. "If you're just trying to hide what the source of the money is, or what the purpose of the money is, and even if you're trying to conceal a campaign donation, that wouldn't fit into... the definition of an intent to defraud."
"And so that's the kind of thing that I would expect that the judge would look at very early on and dismiss on those points," Parlatore said.
..."But, you know, it's certainly the Bridgegate case, where Chris Christie ordered the lane shut down and they charged them with an intent to defraud," Parlatore continued. "But the thing is, by just you know, when you have an intent to cause a traffic jam, and your political rival's town, that's not an intent to deprive anybody of money or property. And so that's why the Supreme Court reversed that case. And it's the same throughout."
Trump paid Cohen with his own money after his then-lawyer had paid Daniels. Bragg therefore would need to assert that someone was deprived of money or property in the effort in order to make the case.

Happening now in Red Run Colorado:
Sec. State restricting Recalls and making it impossible to implement any Election Integrity.
Attempted Gun Restrictions.
State has "Right of first Refusal" on Real Estate sales. (supposedly on multi-unit housing, or vacant land, but is actually open ended for Section 8 housing)
Outlawing Crisis Pregnancy Centers, so Abortion is the only option.
Outlawing County Sheriff's ability to campaign....on their own time....because they're never actually "off the clock"!
Eliminating the filibuster in the State House and Senate.
etc........
That will happen as soon as I learn to juggle flaming chain saws while riding a unicycle on ice.
It was those in the GOP who lined up to stab Trump in the back from day one. Pay attention.
Correct, but that doesn’t mean new GOP people have came to office since then. All’s it takes is a rogue prosecutor.
The lawyer prepares and sends the bill. The client pays the bill.
One doesn’t argue with an attorney unless one is an opposing attorney.
“a million dollars today can easily be chewed up defending against multiple lawsuits filed for the express purpose of destroying an individual’s reputation and financial resources.”
There probably are Republican lawyers that would be willing to take such cases pro bono.
I’ll vote for the Republican nominee.
I voted for Bob Dole and Mitt Romney and John McCain.
I'm there. I support no one but Trump in '24. If the leftist win again by cheat, and the destruction of the country continues, maybe that's what it will take for the rest of the country to pull out of their unresponsive stupor.
I voted for all three of them too, but I will never hold my nose, compromise my values ever again, to vote for the "better" of two evils, because in the end, you're still stuck with evil. I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror if I ever did that again. The reason the GOP will never be reformed is that people will vote for a compromising, appeasing Republican asshole, just to keep the seat Republican. I'd rather sit home on Election Day, and for all I know, I could be dead by November 2024 anyway. I live in central New York State, so every vote I cast for a Republican, is voided by someone casting an illegal ballot downstate.
The reason the Left seems so pervasive is because there are people with money making “protests” happen. Below is a link to a company who will set up a protest for you. There used to be a dozen of them online. When I worked for GD you’d see the bus arrive at eight and offload a couple dozen listless people. Someone in an accompanying van was there to hand out box lunches and professionally printed signs. At five, the bus would arrive and they’d all board it. This went on for weeks and was paid for by the local university, FSU. (One of the officials commented on the necessity as GD was evil.)
I suspect that many of these companies who organize and provide protests have removed their online advertising as it was being used against them and also the laws changed and probably being in the open like that created liability. But, trust me, the people who want them know who to contact.
I’ll be 76 this year. I’m the last one left as nobody else in my family lived to be 75. I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. If I die before 2024, the thought that my last vote for Trump was more than likely voided because of fraud, pisses me off to no end.
Hi.
“I voted for Bob Dole and Mitt Romney and John McCain.”
Unfortunately me too.
Dole was droll, Mitt was shit and McClain was lame.
My bad.

LOL!! The only reason I voted for McCain was because of Sarah Palin, and look what the Democrats, media, and McCain’s own campaign did to her. Had the team actually won, and Palin went on to run for President, she would have definitely gotten the Trump treatment back then, and if she’d won, and Democrats had control of the House or a majority in both Houses, she would have been impeached more than once too. Guaranteed.
I wish Governor Desantis would block extradition on the basis that a fair trial for conservatives is impossible in New York City. Further, to respect the rule of law, he should offer the state of Florida as an appropriate venue for any such trial of President Trump.
By all rights, it’s the Big Demented Guy and his little chimpanzee, Hunter’s turn.
There will be no need for another such action...
The American serfs, and their politicians, will never again step out of line...
A nation of subservient cowards is a happy nation...
Thanks all! I finally saw the meme. Looked pretty good.

Saw this today posted on patriots.win:
Hey, DOJ! Chris Mackey was convicted for this. When does Kristina Wong's trial start?
Pretty good.
