Didn’t a Washington D.C. jury (egged on by a DC Federal judge) acquit Michael Sussmann of lying to the FBI, even though his lawyers never contested the facts? I believe his defense was that no one could have been stupid enough to believe him. The FBI made him sign an explicit statement saying that he was not acting on behalf of a candidate. His defense: Sure, I swore to a false statement, but I didn’t think anyone was stupid enough to believe me.
I read where Durhams final report will be out soon, so maybe part of the report?
