Put a fork in the opposition denials to what was increasingly obvious; it’s over. Last summer we saw the fingerprints of the professional republican apparatus all over the construct that was creating the Ron DeSantis 2024 effort. The data was all going in one direction, all of the constructs were identical to the Karl Rove playbook with the single addition of the Republican Governor’s Association as a participant. As the months moved forward the Rovian elements became more and more clear. The DeSantis supporters tried to deny it, but the truth of the issue is just too obvious.
Now, insider republican political pundit Mark Simone admits that Team Bush and Karl Rove are the specific organizers of the DeSantis 2024 effort. Appearing on Fox Business, Larry Kudlow asks directly, “who is behind the DeSantis campaign?” Simone admits, “yeah, it’s Karl Rove – Karl Rove has been advising DeSantis, that’s why he’s been getting a little bit better every week.” WATCH:

Except it’s not what DeSantis said. DeSantis said “HE [Putin] is like a gas station with nuclear weapons.” Nothing disparaging about the Russian people or land, just the maniac running it.
Every one of us celebrated it at the time because if the mean Muslims.
Taunting and insulting an old culture with nuclear superiority is just dumb, especially when fighting for something somewhere where your vital interests are not involved but the those of the people with nukes are.
And the difference is? Same level of stupidity and abject ignorance.
So Larry Kudlow eliminates minutes of DeSantis DEFENDING Trump against the weaponized use of law enforcement agencies, and then asks this DeSimone guy “what do you make of that?”
We all know Kudlow is Team Trump. No insinuations, inferrals or anything; Kudlow worked for Trump. So maybe JUST MAYBE, DeSimone isn’t “admitting” anything about DeSantis, but is simply yet another liar spewing bullshit at Trump’s command.
I don't know who "us" is. Me and a lot of other Conservatives (not just liberaltarians) warned that the Patriot Act, TSA, TIA, Homoland Security were bad ideas at the time, despite hating muzz slimes.
We never did nuke the Saudis like they deserved and like I suggested. Instead, that POS Bush manacled Americans and kissed the ass of the ROP, just like a good dhimmi.
DeSantis does not have the genius and dynamic personality of Donald Trump.

DeSantis DOES NOT HAVE a bunch of RINO legislators in Fl. he is able to be successful in his state because he is not dealing with the likes of McConnell, Merkowski, Cornyn, Thume, Graham, and on and on!! As bad as that is, why would ANYONE flip in that direction 180 degrees over the most important issue of the election?
That reeks of the Anti-Trump Big-Money people DEMANDING that DeSantis ‘get it right’ on Ukraine (meaning take the pro-World War 3 side).
To me, by channeling McCain, he’s pretty much signaled that he either may not run, or if he runs, it’s only to get his name out (rather than to win).
Whatever the outcome this will be Trump’s last election after that the Bush/Rove clan will still be out there and people like them, that’s why IMO we need to be open to people in addition to Trump.
Even if Trump wins, he’s got 4 years and turning things around will take significantly longer than that assuming it’s even possible to turn things around
I am open to people besides Trump, but if he wins the nomination, I hope he picks a better running mate than the last time.
Yes, but barely. Winning against such goof-balls as Gore and Kerry will hardly go down in history as great. It simply proves that the heralded Bush political machine is just barely adequate. Bush1 won his first election only because of Reagan's coat tails, and lost his second. Bush2 BARELY won both. Bush3 got his clock cleaned in the primaries. It's not a dynasty that will go down in history as even mediocre.
Right now I’m open to Trump and DeSantis, living in Florida, he’s done some incredible things, no candidate including Trump checks all the boxes for me.
Last year at this time, the praise of DeSantis was nearly universal here on FR, now we getting one article after another on why he’s disgusting, I’m not in the Trump or no one column.
