China is relatively close to Afghanistan. I would bet that most of our stuff that was left behind ended up in Chinese hands. And more than likely, China is now in control of Baghram air base.

I remain of the opinion that xiden brashly withdrew from Afghanistan to support direct US action in Ukraine to oppose a Russian buildup and consequent action.
Obviously, that did not occur - nor did any cosmic event/natural disaster which might have explained the need for troops at home - but someday I expect that someone will write a book exposing that little detail and the closed-door drama which followed the harried pullout.
