The man that penned "Moore's Law"...Moore's law {in 1965} is the observation that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit (IC) doubles about every two years. He also stated that the cost is being reduced by about half over the same period. It worked for over 60 years, I haven't tracked it since about 2010.
If Moore's Law had applied to the auto industry {it did not} the price of a new car today would be less than a $100.
Gordon Moore was a genius and for those of us that ever had the privilege of meeting him knew it within minutes. He was not a friend but I met him several times on business visits and he was cordial.
He did so much for the computer industry, that without him we might still be using ________ {fill in the blank on your own}.
