If you are a consumer today, inflation is only one of the problems harming you. As prices go up, quality continues to go down. What most stores have to offer you might crassly be called “cheap crap.” In fact, economic writer Charles Hugh Smith has repeatedly warned that the “crapification” of the U.S. economy is the natural result of a “neoliberal-hyper-financialization-hyper-globalization model,” in which quasi-monopolist manufacturers mass-produce goods with the cheapest possible components, while customers with scant other buying options are forced to accept that few purchases will last.

Every self-respecting corp should disassociate from the Wicked WEF
Be nice to those that own wheelbarrows.
It isn’t just the US. I saw an article about how an African country, maybe Uganda, was drowning in cheap Chineses clothes, that were so cheaply made that they didn’t last through the first wash and ended up in piles of trash. I understood exactly what they were talking about, anyone who shops at Costco knows. The cheap fabric shrinks, gets permanently wrinkled or gets tiny holes that makes it look like you were standing too close to a camp fire. Even socks and towels are prone to the holes. But still we buy them.
You get what you pay for.
There is a concerted effort by many people and organizations and other countries, to take down the U.S. economy and the country.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, CRT, Wokeness/Wokeism.
Code words for killing the economy.
Soros. China, Russia, progressives/socialists/liberals/democrats/communists; all colluding to kill our economy, which leads to the U.S. weakened on the world stage, creating a vacuum in world leadership, which would be filled by China mostly, but with the help of Russia and other America-hating leaders and countries.
Our military is going woke, while it’s also being diminished and weakened, with the voluntary force not getting the number of recruits it needs, and in reality, it’s all by design. Biden and Lloyd Austin and liberal generals pretending to care while allowing the destruction of the military. All by design; how else to explain what’s been happening to the military?
We are on the way out, and China/Russia and others are kicking our asses and taking our place in the world.
The WEF is the latest creation of the psychopath-narcissist ruling class in their never ending quest to regain the power lost due to the West's "Enlightenment".
Before the Enlightenment, Europe's elites justified their status by "divine right" and used the Church to promulgate their dogma to the masses, but in today's secular world this function is performed by the WEF.
Did you know Mayorkas, director of homeland security, has not been to the U.S. border since biden was installed. He has however been to an immigrant processing facility funded by the US in Columbia just this month. The reason for the visit? To see how the expansion of the facility was going so they can help more illegals reach the US border.
This invasion is financed by our own government with the purpose of replacing the existing citizens.
They are working with the Europeans and the Chinese to destroy the United States as we know it.
Exactly, but we have grown accustomed to a disposable society. A lot of it is the result of advertising. We are so inundated with with advertising that higher style becomes more important than quality. Your Grandmother’s solid wood dining room set is sent to the Good Will in favor of a new, made in China set that isn’t even real wood. … and since the young couple don’t have a dining room, the imitation wood set falls apart from use every night and needs to be replaced in five years.
Well said
I can attest to that. We moved into our new home two and half years ago. As of last month we had to replace EVERY single appliance. It is true they do not make them like they use to. A friend of mine, their parents had the same dishwasher for 30 years.
Yes, Chinese is just crap. And China is at the center of the crapification of the West.
I find myself falling for it all the time, though. It was especially easy to fall for it during Covid, when things were in such short supply. I bought a tv stand from China. It is a huge piece of furniture. It is all wood, I don’t know what kind, but it is wood, but the odor of the finish was so bad that we had to leave it on the porch for a week. I don’t know what people would do if they didn’t have a porch.
True and throw away items make some sense. For example coffee filters. Thing is our local pulp mill went out of the business of making paper. Instead it and other pulp are sent directly to China to produce paper now. That’s the consequence of China.
Paper mills are really filthy, though. I know because my father worked in a mill which was owned by my uncle. Even as a kid, before the days of environmentalism ( yes, I am old) I was shocked at the pollution from the paper mill and wondered how they could let the paper mill do that. I didn’t know who “they” were.
LOL
