Actually that’s the smart thing to do. For one thing Trump’s base isn’t going to vote for him if Trump is running. So trying to woo them is just wasted effort. And also there’s nothing to say that wouldn’t be spun, in both directions, and turn into a nightmare of having to “correct” the spin. Best to leave your opponent’s legal troubles alone. Go be governor. Do campaign stuff. Worry about your own stuff. Let your opponent sink or swim on his own.

I agree 100%. This isn’t DeSantis’fight. It’s Trump’s fight. If Trump can’t handle it, then maybe he ought to reconsider running for one of the toughest jobs in the world.
