Trump lashes out at DeSantis, says he regrets his endorsement of him

Former President Donald Trump is intensifying his attacks on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling him disloyal and saying that his political career would have been over had he not endorsed his ultimately successful 2018 campaign.

“He was dead as a dog, he was a dead politician. He would have been working perhaps for a law firm or doing something else,” Trump told a small group of reporters aboard his plane on Monday afternoon en route to Iowa, where he was to make an appearance that evening.

Trump spent nearly ten minutes going after DeSantis, who is widely viewed as his most formidable challenger for the Republican nomination. The Florida governor, who is expected to launch his campaign following the end of the state’s legislative session in May, has been embarking on a swing of early primary states to promote his newly released memoir — including in Iowa, where he appeared on Friday.

You could just set the record straight and tell your sons that DeSantis is perfectly ok with LGBTQ sexualized child education starting in the 4th grade on up. The Florida law only protects children from that from kindergarten through the 3rd grade.

Thanks, I’m still a bit skeptical of those numbers but that does seem to be a legitimate source appreciate that

He turned in Trump?

By not bowing and worshipping him ? Cause if that’s not it I don’t know what else he did to “turn on him”

Thing is I think you are right about things getting really bad, in which case I would prefer a solid administrator rather than a guy who in his need for admiration and to be worshipped will almost certainly keep the printing presses running and not really do anything while saying he is

Again, I supported DJT both elections, helped raise a ton of money for him and will vote for him is he is the nominee (don’t think he will be) but I won’t be raising money this time because I don’t think he can win it

It’s not about “bowing” to Trump or any one man. It’s what Trump represents and that is, honest government, that does what it says and is beholden to the people not a small group of ultra-wealthy globalists.

The most important thing right now, is that all of the work to reform the republican party that Trump has done continues. If we fail at this it won’t matter who’s elected. We go back to Uniparty rule and likely America’s total destruction.

So when DeSantis divides and weakens that movement he is not just stabbing Trump in the back he is really stabbing all of us in the back. If DeSantis was on board he would be supporting the man that is behind that movement not opposing him.

I understand your sentiment and agree about the uniparty stuff, however I disagree on the rest and could make the argument that it is Trump stabbing us int he back knowing he is unlikely to be elected and not passing the torch and support to someone with a better chance because of his ego saying that he is the only one who can do it.

Nearly every very successful business has founder(s) who create and get something going but in order to grow and succeed they bring in people or run or at least guide the operations of the endeavor.

Ron DeSantis has aligned himself with greedy, vile politicians – those hiding under the umbrella of republicanism. He is a politician who can best be described as an accomplished rhetorician, or an eloquent orator, much like Charles Darwin, Bill Clinton, and Barrack Obama.

They will never allow a non Democrat candidate to win an election ever again.

So how did the GOP get a House majority, however slim, in 2022? Seems to me if the Rats really controlled everything they'd fix it so Biden (or whoever really runs the show) had a veto-proof majority.

Republicans would control the Presidency, and have a majority in both the House and the Senate, if not for voter fraud.

“It’s amazing to see the rabid attacks on people for merely stating that they think Trump is saying things that could hurt his chances at re-election.”

My reply: Fetterman and Biden. Both candidates cannot compare to Trump’s successes in private life or in politics. Yet not were elected.

With all due respect, Trump was going to lose the Presidency regardless of voter fraud. He made no effort to win over independent voters, who tend to be the deciding factor in most elections, while alienating some of his own supporters by pushing the clot shot, not firing Fauci, not finishing the border wall, not fixing the deficit, etc. An unpopular president often hurts his party's Congressional showings as well. That's why I'm backing DeSantis in the 2024 primaries. Obviously if Trump gets the nomination I will suck it up and vote for him again. But I'm not going to pretend to like the guy.
