This says to me that DeSantis is probably inclined not to run, and that Pence knows he’ll get booed. I’m betting in the end that DeSantis will announce in early May he is not running and endorse Trump.

That would be the smart decision for DeSantis.
The dumb decision is to challenge Trump, get your ass kicked, and not be relevant nationally in 2028 and 2032.
Sounds right. Trump and his henchmen are overplaying their hand and in the process may damage any chance of winning those 5 key states in the general.
But gosh...at least we dusted off the DeSantis crowd....dumb.
