A documentary that I saw on Japanese Television (NHK) pointed out that Kim Jong Un started out promoting big civil engineering projects in North Korea in an attempt to modernize a clearly backward country.
He did a 180 and ramped up going nuclear after he saw what happened to Gadaffi shortly after giving up Libya's nuclear program.
He backed off just a little during the short four years that we had a sane person in the Oval Office even though he really never gave up the nuclear program not knowing how soon America would go back to a globalist president.
