Accused crypto-scammer Sam Bankman-Fried was hit with four new criminal charges on Thursday for allegedly conspiring to make more than 300 illegal political donations using "straw" donors to evade contribution limits.
Prosecutors said Bankman-Fried conspired with two other former FTX executives to donate tens of millions of dollars in order to influence lawmakers to pass legislation favorable to the company.
The donations were unlawful because they were made through "straw" donors or with corporate funds, often allowing Bankman-Fried to evade contribution limits, prosecutors said.
While Bankman-Fried was one of the largest donors to Democratic campaigns in the 2022 midterms, the indictment said he "did not want to be known as a left-leaning partisan, or to have his name publicly attached to Republican candidates."
Prosecutors said that Bankman-Fried directed one executive to donate primarily to left-leaning candidates and organizations and the other to Republicans, with many donations funded by his Alameda Research hedge fund and including FTX customer funds.

Let us see where the “donations” went to . Money channeled illegally to whatever politician doesn’t matter. Expose them all. They knew this laundered money!
Who, or what agency, department, is making the charges?
It takes two to tango. Where are the charges for those that received the “donations”? It’s time to start calling these types of political donations exactly what they are: bribes.
How much more proof does anyone need to finally accept most of our government is just one corrupt uniparty?

oh, the recipients are well known ... about 60% Dems and 40% Pubs ... they were stupid about how they did this, like they were stupid about everything else they did ... direct candidate contributions are highly limited and highly regulated ... but that’s all easy to bypass by founding a PAC that can receive unlimited money from any domestic source, where the PACs turn around and distribute the money to the candidates ...
I hope Sam does not own a shotgun or belt, electrical cord, rope, sheet, etc.........
And IF ONE of the over 300 is to a Republican that's the ONLY one the corrupt press will talk and write about. Eff YOU New York Times and Washington Post in advance...
