*allegedly* the weather was either profoundly marginal or below minimums when they departed.

But if not ya gotta add in the fact that the aircraft in the incident is one of the safest and most reliable twins in service.
At face value, if weather was NOT a factor, contaminated fuel is easy to SPECULATE as a cause.
Dual engine failure would permit a controlled flight into terrain, ie. not augered in. But again no data about the crash. Arm chair BS at this point.
Sad and tragic is what we know.

We'll see if the NTSB or FAA comes up with anything. I will take quite some time. That is assuming the NTSB investigations teams haven't been co-opted like so many other government agency personnel.
