Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

If there is a "massive" air attack, will Russia follow the USAF recipe?

Cruise missiles and stealth fighters attacking UKR air bases and other military targets. Actually, Ru doesn't have a stealth fighter.

Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) missions.

Air-to-Air Sweep missions.

Air-to-Ground Bombing missions (Fighter Bombers). Russia will not risk getting their Bombers shot down.

Close Air Support and Battlefield Air Interdiction missions as required by the ground war.

This is a very fine little video on today’s Finland as they seek NATO membership.

Why Finland has 54,000 Nuclear Bunkers (some with swimming pools)

Let the pets in. Some people would skip the shelter to stay with their pets!

Don’t think they really have the capability to follow western/US Doctrine

Would think big they had enough smart munitions they would have used it

Ukraine has better air defense now then when the war started, more experience, and more coordination plus there is a manpad behind every rock and tree

Soviet er ah Russian pilots don’t get much flight time and their training and doctrine don’t match the west. That is why you see such a dependence on SAMS. Their doctrine is to deny air space not conquer it

Their initial attack shows that and their loses were so great that they resorted to only missions close to the front and basically flaring up and throwing munitions in the direction of enemy a version of spray and pray

I am very interested to see if they try and what the results would be, my guess is little results and lots of lost planes and pilots neither of which they can afford to lose, but just the same if they don’t try their front line troops are cannon fodder
Putin has bet the farm on this and I imagine he will go all in, afterwards lots of generals will fall out of windows.

- As Russia’s special military operation reaches the one year mark, we wonder what is happening now and what will happen next;

- Equally important is what started this conflict;

- NATO has repeatedly attacked and destroyed allies of Russia around the globe throughout the 21st century;

- NATO has also constantly encroached eastward toward Russia’s borders;

- The Western media admits that the US has repeatedly overthrown nations along Russia’s borders and installed client regimes in their place;

- The Western media also admits that these nations pose a threat to Russia including Georgia which in 2008 actually attacked Russian forces;

- Ukraine from 2014 onward was a repeat of US meddling in Georgia that left Russia with only one choice, not if conflict would come but when it would be fought? At a time convenient for NATO or for Russia?

- The US is pursuing a similar campaign of encroachment, encirclement, and proxy war with China giving Beijing every reason to support Russia in its current operations in Ukraine;

All of that takes a lot of training - which as far as we know, is not Russian doctrine nor have the trained to do it. They get no air time and no live weapons to train with. Troops cost cutting measures for the commanders who pocket the difference.

We will see a lot of “smart” people thought until recently that Russia would roll over the west, you know a numbers thing.
What you don’t know is what will happen when the rubber hits the road. Arguably at Ukrainians weakest point they did heavy damage to Russian Air Force and the Air Force pulled back to save its planes and pilots
As we learned air support is key to doing more with less on the ground
Not having air support for ground forces cost Russia dearly

Correct.

My guess is that the UKR S-300s achieved the majority of the shoot downs.

UKR would have extensive knowledge of RU ECM systems used on RU's aircraft. The ECM software was probably developed in Ukraine.

Without ECM, any aircraft flying within range of an S-300 will be shot down.

May be coming soon if certain people were correct.

Meanwhile, it looks like the promised modern tanks and planes will not be happening any time soon. Perhaps a ploy by the West to force Ukraine to accede to Russia’s terms?

Other than some Democrats it looks like a good bit of America would rather not have war in he news any more, especially the isolationist conservatives who are in love with Neville Chamberlain.

The theory must be if we don’t participate, war will go away.

So few people understand what the Russians are really about, never having faced them down during the Cold War., never having seen the hell they create for their conquered peoples.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2023/02/recognizing-the-war-is-lost-the-west-seeks-an-exit.html#more

U.S. President Joe Biden is in Kiev today to rescue his lunatic project of destroying Russia by proxy war. But there is no good way to do that.

A review of 'western' media shows that the inevitable outcome of the war is now recognized. The only still open alternatives are to risk a large nuclear war or to retreat from 'western' dreams of its permanent hegemony.

Few 'western' officials will admit that the war is lost, that Russia has won in Ukraine. But it has. It had won the war when it successfully trapped the Ukrainian army into a war of attrition.

A the Russian commentator Sacha Rogers writes (in Russian, machine translation):

This war has already been won (moreover, what is most offensive for various "unrecognized geniuses", without their participation and contrary to their foolish ideas of how it should be won). It was won at the moment when, instead of a highly maneuverable war, our General Staff imposed a positional “standing” with an attrition war on the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Strictly by the textbook: Attrition warfare is a military strategy consisting of belligerent attempts to win a war by wearing down the enemy to the point of collapse through continuous losses in personnel and material.

###

But the Ukrainian army does not have the material and manpower ready to launch some kind of counter offense that would have a chance to be win the war. It doesn't even have enough to regain some significant territory.

The third army it would need would have to be much stronger than the two armies it has already lost. And its not coming.

I don’t know, but have seen it on one of the War Zone articles - buried somewhere as well as Denys - we will know soon enough.

If the UA can materialize the combined arms maneuver that they just pulled off near Vulhedar at a large scale the war might end quickly no matter what offensive the Orcs are about.
