ATLANTA - Fulton County has released portions of the findings of a special grand jury investigating whether then-President Donald Trump and his allies illegally tried to overturn his defeat in Georgia's presidential 2020 election.
The report’s introduction and conclusion, along with a section in which the grand jurors expressed concerns that some witnesses may have lied under oath were released Thursday. But any recommendations on potential criminal charges will remain under wraps for now For nearly eight months, the grand jury has considered evidence and heard testimony from dozens of witnesses, including high-profile Trump associates and top state officials.
While the special grand jury, by law, cannot indict anyone, the jurors voted to have their findings made public.
The partial release was ordered Monday by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who oversaw the special grand jury. During a hearing last month, prosecutors urged him not to release the report until they decide on charges, while a coalition of media organizations, including The Associated Press, pushed for the entire report to be made public immediately.

THEN WHAT WS THE POINT?..................
If anything is redacted then the charges are bogus and will not be accepted by the people.
Personally, I don’t think they’ll try to charge Trump with anything anytime soon for fear the charges would be tossed or he would be found not guilty and end up looking stronger. I have a feeling they’re keeping them on the back burner to see if he gets the Republican nomination in 2024, then if it looks like he’s winning come about October, then suddenly all these felony charges will drop from every direction.
Gives cover for a DA to file charges.
The point is to create headlines which claim Orange Man Bad...... fill in the blank.....
To embarrass Trump and accuse him of making up the election being stolen even though it was
p
I think one point was to see if they could even get an indictment.
and to even try to indict, they would have to empanel\bring it to a regular grand jury
But, with that said, they got Trump this time. After all, it was a grand jury and that’s a legal thingy, ya know. It was in a court, with a jury, and with a judge.
And a ham sandwich.
The purpose of a Grand Jury is to indict criminals, not write reports. The fact that they are writing a report means that they can’t find evidence of criminal activity. If they have evidence of witness lying, they also issue indictments for that. The fact that they just whine about it in a report means that there is no evidence for that, either.
Aaaaaaaand...
Nothing burger.
“He didn’t win did he.”
That’s the point. This is not a “Grand Jury” (which makes indictments, OR NOT). It’s a “special” grand jury. As the article states: “we’re not at the beginning of this investigation but she’s reached some dead ends and is using a special grand jury just to complete the investigation.”
The prosecutor doesn’t have a case, she just has a report. If she had a case, she would have indictments.
