You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Donald Trump is starting his third run for president much as he did during the first run. He appears to be trashing any candidate that he sees as a potential threat to his nomination. Trump is the only Republican candidate who has announced his candidacy so far. Nikki Haley is expected to do so next week. In the meantime, Trump is focused on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who hasn’t even said if he’ll run in the 2024 GOP presidential primary or not.
Right now, DeSantis is busy being governor. He was re-elected last November. That victory was one for the books. When DeSantis was asked about Trump’s criticism of the governor’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic last month, he pointed to the victory.

And Reagan was greater. Certainly the greater man. Tired of the nonsense from cultists that 1-term Trump is better than 2-term Reagan.
Trump has always been an arrogant narcissist. He is always about himself. Even his comments over these years are all hyperbole about how he has the best this and greatest that, ever. Ever. He’s full of himself.

I have reassessed Reagan and I find he was not nearly enough Conservative, and certainly did not handle the Democrats as he could have. He raised taxed 33 times. His hero was always FDR who he wanted to emulate. The Myth lives on.

Oh good God.
Think what you wish.
But before slapping out that “Reagan not good enough” stuff (mostly to build up Trump - or trump him up) don’t ever forget he had to fight a Dem Congress most of his tenure. He had Senate for maybe 6 years IIRC.

Gotta say I love your rants. It’s refreshing, funny, like Trump himself is supposed to be per the EverTrumpers. You know, him shooting off his mouth is good and wonderful.
See the irony? Yet I’m sure every EverTrumper hates your spontaneous open honesty.
It’s gotten to the point where we non-cultists can’t take it anymore. Your outbursts are understandable.

But before slapping out that “Reagan not good enough” stuff (mostly to build up Trump - or trump him up) don’t ever forget he had to fight a Dem Congress most of his tenure. He had Senate for maybe 6 years IIRC.
And while we complain about Lindsay Graham and Ben Sasse, he had to deal with Lowell Weicker, Arlen Specter, Bob Packwood, and a plurality of Mitt Romney clones.
As far as raising taxes 33 times. Yes, he did impose tariffs for Japanese motorcycles, and he did raise the Fed gasoline tax. He also raised SocSec taxes. Some individual taxes went up as a result of supposedly revenue neutral TEFRA (1986 Tax reform act for simplification of brackets).
But INCOME TAXES WERE REDUCED 25%! That is huge, and dwarfs most of those other hikes except maybe SocSec. INCOME TAXES were also INDEXED for the first time. That is just as huge, as the Dems secretly LOVED inflation pushing more and more folks into higher brackets.
We only can call Mitt Romney and Susan Collins RINO today, because Reagan catalyzed a realignment in the Republican Party. Trump has done a good job of chasing out the Bush/Todd-Whitman/Romney/Crist cabal. That will be ongoing work, as they don't like being a diaspora.

Big mistake by Trump. The grace he was given for being a non politician is wearing thin.

Much different times - when was the term RINO coined?
If it was in use during his tenure then I’d say very few were even obvious about it. Now RINO is the majority in DC Repubs.

Have you not been around long enough to understand who controls taxes and spending? A president will not usually veto that which the house and senate will still authorize.

The only thing “rotten” about DeSantis is Trump feels threatened by him.
So Trump, the WHOREMONGER, feels the need to resort to slander.

I certainly don’t hate DeSantis. I campaigned and donated to him when he ran for governor both times. I just don’t want him to bail on us before his time.I shudder to think what will happen to Florida when he’s not the gov anymore. I have a deep disgusting feeling we will become California in a very short time. You can’t believe the number of folks moving here and they’re not all the best. If he’s our candidate I will campaign and donate to him again. Right now we need Trump to clean up the mess.

Exactly how is Trump, a private citizen, going to be able to do anything about democrats ballot harvesting? That’s just goofy.

You said "Really was hoping for a Trump/DeSantis ticket….would’ve been UNSTOPPABLE!"
YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING. Trump will never ever win a general election. I voted for him twice. But he has so turned off so many Republicans and undecided that, I repeat HE WILL NEVER EVER WIN A GENERAL ELECTION.

Does he have a plan to collect mail-in ballots himself? Or is it just going to be the same game-plan that didn't work in 2020, when he was president?
I want every GOP candidate to answer this. I want a candidate who has a plan to win, not a plan to complain uselessly after the Democrats haul in a few hundred thousand mail-in ballots in the middle of the night after the polls close.

If you can’t grasp that Trump is a private citizen and can do nothing about ballot harvesting I can’t help you. Who are your senators and congressmen? When was the last time you called or wrote them?
